naanda: cis queer (she/her), the oldest sister with the biggest weight to bear. at night, she still cries out as she remembers the nights that followed the vagabonds’ slaughter.

“the selfish lion”: cis unknown (he/him), renamed mchafu in my universe. whatever side you may be on for nature vs nurture, it’s hard to argue it wasn’t in mchafu’s nature to be what he is. violence without end, even as a cub. his mother stayed up late, wondering how she could help guide him, and yet it was in vain. there is no guiding those who refuse to be helped.

shani: cis lesbian (she/her), renamed uditi in my universe. who knows if i’ll keep her as an actual character i’ll use in my universe, but it is fun to play around with another simbaxnala kid. i quite like how her design came out as well.

asante: trans bisexual (she/her), i love asante! in my universe i’m thinking of making them have a poly relationship with kopan and afua! she’d only be dating kopan since afua is gay but her and afua would be in a qpr. i like the idea of it but i’ll need to think on it more,,

tesma: cis straight (she/her), i actually had no idea about this character till i looked her up! she’s apparently one of the meerkats in timon’s colony, which is pretty neat. the concept art of her was cute so i tried to incorporate some of it into this rough little design of her.

bhati: trans gender-fluid queer (she/they/he), one of mheetu’s best friends, he also occasionally hung out with simba and the gang. she didn’t survive long after mheetu died during scar’s reign, they didn’t stand a chance with how competitive the hunt for food got. not to mention the hyenas, who did end up finding them in the end..
