"Love is giving everything you've got...and wishing you had more to give."...Yes. So...apologies if any of you liked the original better...the image quality was very, very poor (thus the reason I couldn't offer a larger image originally) and I wanted to reshoot with better lighting and a macro lens.
I got rid of the very simple, muted background, but I think I'm gonna bring it back when I eventually redo it (yes, again). I won't give up til I get it *perfect* - thanks so much to all those who've commented and +fav'ed. And, let me know which version you prefer if you are so inclined.

wow this piece really sticks out to me simply because of the symbolism behind it. It took me a minute to figure out what it was but now that I see it, its simply genius. Roses are beautiful in themselves and therefore I add this to the long list of favorites.

Saw this photo, passed over it, and came back. It was in the Spotlight, as you may well know, and it was the only one that really stuck in my mind until I went and looked at it closer. I love the brilliant white and what I think of as a wintery red. Cardinals, I guess, are the connection. Off-topic.
Kind of disappointed that this isn't just slightly larger, because I like the feel of rose petals and their silky texture isn't quite captured here. Then, I suppose, the roses weren't the idea.

It's such a simple idea, but so insightful and lovely at the same time. It reminds me of this photographer who goes out and makes sculptures and such using only what he finds in nature, then he photographs it. I forget his name, though...
