"Love is giving everything you've got...and wishing you had more to give."...Yes. So...apologies if any of you liked the original better...the image quality was very, very poor (thus the reason I couldn't offer a larger image originally) and I wanted to reshoot with better lighting and a macro lens.
I got rid of the very simple, muted background, but I think I'm gonna bring it back when I eventually redo it (yes, again). I won't give up til I get it *perfect* - thanks so much to all those who've commented and +fav'ed. And, let me know which version you prefer if you are so inclined.

This is proof of big things come in small packages. The composition dainty and easily built via the color contrast. It holds a sense of closeness without choking. Very excellent!

It is genuinely lovely, wonderful concept, beautifully executed. I like how you didn't pick two perfect roses -- the white rose has two holes in the petals -- and how they are, in my opinion, in the perfect stage of their bloom... seems to picture two lovers who have shared the good times and the bad and have grown to be better than they could on their own.
Truly lovely, and instead of roses on Valentine's day, this print would be wonderful. Sadly, I do not have a white rose for my red...

What a fun idea! The contrast of the single petals are a bite jarring at first (for maybe a brief brief moment of time), but then you realize how nicely done it is... The element of surprise in the beginning makes it that much better.

I like how this sort of in my opinnion don't kill me represents the sacrifices both have to make in a relationship and also how you give a part of yourself to the other who in return gives a part of him/herself back to you.
