I don't see much Emerl art out there....I vowed to myself to lay off Sonicness for a while and expand as an artist. However, with the new Dynasty Warriors Advance coming out, it made em get back into the GBA mode and hook up the SP. I stuck in Sonic Battle and proceeded to play the last few chapters. Folks, Sonic Battle has to be one of the best Sonic games to date....I enjoy fighting games and this has got the be the best story in both terms of being told and it's overall put-together-ness. We need more text dialogue Sonic games. So much more story and character development come from it.
Anyways, I hit one of the most emotional moments in Sonic history: the death of Emerl. Everyone is sad about this, even cold-hearted Shadowboy. Let's just hope Emerl STAYS dead so we don't have another Shadow Mystery on our hands. Plus, if he returns, it'll kill the mood of the Sonic Battle ending like Shadow's coming back killed SA2's ending COMPLETELY. I actually very much liked Shadow prior to his return.
This is another reason why I like Sonic so much: He can cry if he needs to. Sure, the animation in Batte is limited, but you could see it if you put your mind into the game and drama. Sonic is depicted in my image as how I saw him and Emerl....albeit I invisioned Emerl more beat up after taking a Sonic-pounding. Sonic can also get beaten up, as seen in the Shadow the Hedgehog E3 trailer. "Wait, a main character depicted as mortal?" Yes, folks. Sonic is awesome like that. He can show emotion, show pain, and not even need a female companion! He'll kick your ass and laugh when he's done.
....But back to the picture....
This took me about 2 hours to do. Since I don't have my scanner still, I drew and colored this on Macromedia Flash, then imprted it to Photoshop for editing and shading.

In Sonic Advance 3
Nonagression being the remix of Emerl's theme from Sonic Battle canonically, and the fact that Eggman used Emerl's data before he got destroyed, it comes to show that Emerl is still alive, only exists in that dark, cold shell. I don't know if Sonic was able to tell when he first met Gemerl because of how much he looked like his original predecessor. Although i can headcanon it and say that it gave Sonic the flashback of someone he raised not alone, but with everyone Emerl had knew before his time. And by the time Gemerl malfuctioned, he showed freewill taking the emeralds and running off going wild. At that point (After i sweated for months collecting those chaos emeralds just to find 10 chao in a damn area) i can tell Sonic must've known that it was Emerl. Emerl had complete free will back in Sonic Battle, which made Sonic remember the behavior Gemerl shown before running off. Again, this theme definitely shows that Emerl was still alive, but its kinda sad of how much torture he had to go through as a weapon of mass destruction.

If you've ever played Sonic Advance 3, Robotnik builds Gemerl from Emerl's remains, it's evil, but after Super Sonic defeats him, Tails rebuilds Gemerl to act like Emerl. Unfortunately, they gave him to Cream, and he hasn't appeared since.
I have other things in mind for Gemerl.

Yeah, you have to get the Emeralds to access the true final boss, like any Advance series game. Have fun with the annoying Chao fetch quest if you want to access it.

The only entertaining thing I have ever seen with Chao is walking into a Chao garden in SA1 as Gamma, and proceeding to mash the Y button when not close enough to pick on up. Video game cruelty potential at its best.
