OOC of a Republic Strike Fleet during the Clone Wars

The Geonosian Re-Invasion Armada was the designation of the large Republic Invasion Fleet which was dispatched to Geonosis during the height of the Clone Wars.

After Archduke Poggle The Lesser orchestrates a planetary uprising which saw Geonosis once again becoming a major Separatist holdout, word reaches the Republic that he was reactivating the Droid Foundries and a decisionw as taken to reconquer the planet.

Assembling over 2.9 million clones for this invasion and assembling the fleets of Jedi Masters Luminara Unduli, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon, Ki-Adi Mundi and supporting Jedi-led battle groups, the armada consists of 80 Acclamator-class Assault Ships and well over 100 Venator-class Star Destroyers.

However, the Jedi battle plan was not only flawed but was openly opposed by Shinji Ikari, who aruges for a more ruthless approach to the Geonosian problem: a Rain of Death Bombardment which will ensures nothing alive would be left to oppose the invasion.

The Jedi Council, thinking that their approach was sound, rejects Shinji's suggestion and this only fuels the growing rift between them.

The Second Battle of Geonosis was a costly battle for the Jedi yet this was also the last campaign Shinji would ever participates since he would not only signals a Black Flag to his forces but unleash a bombardment which saw hundreds of thousands of Geonosian warriors being killed.

Ironically enough, Shinji would confide his suggestions to Rear Admiral Wilhuff Tarkin and decades later, would unleash the Geonosian Genocide through use of a Genetic-created Bioweapon which wipes out the entire Geonosian race.
