Description
On the left (with the scythe) and right (with the wings and the hood), respectively. Both characters have manifested themselves in stories my mind has created, and the one on the right is one I've used in games before, though it doesn't look nearly as cool as it does here in my opinion. Of course, this presentation I find to be absolutely fascinating...the silhouette is just amazing, and I really love the colors as well. This is something I'm absolutely happy with, but kinda just staring at saying "what" the entire time.Iunno, fractal characters that actually look like characters
The base for this fractal was created during a back-and-forth between SuicideBySafetyPin and myself, although I've made significant changes to it since then. While I normally don't create fractal "manipulations," the extent here is just flipping and placing the left rightmost character next to the left one. The juxtaposition of these two character was impossible not to pursue.
I hope you all enjoy it!
Apo + Chaotica

Thank you This particular fractal means a lot to me, and I am greatly impressed that I was able to do something like this with a fractal. The medium never ceases to amaze me in what it is capable of accomplishing!

There's not really any message or meaning I want you to take out of it, if that's what you're asking.
While it is something that has significant meaning to me, it's not intended to have a broad message other than the character on the left being Death, and the character on the right being an angel. Digging any deeper unravels stories in my mind...
I think it looks interesting and hopefully sparks the imaginations of people viewing it in some way

I make artwork because I enjoy it. Most of my own opinions are in the title and description, though I do elaborate in comments if people are interested in knowing more. I certainly can share some of my views if you want to hear them.
However, I prefer to let people come up with their own ideas as much as I can, without forcing them to interpret it in an ultra rigid way. What I personally find most appealing about art is that it can immensely inspire the mind and allow it to run wild.

Of course I want to hear them !
I have to say, it is a really hard thing to make different interpretations for different people. You're really talented, that's a unique talent.

Obviously my storytelling has a ways to go, as stories can go through my mind as crazy as they'd like, but that doesn't mean I'm able to capture it in writing well XD
Well, in this particular world, angels and demons are just "races" rather than symbols of "good" and evil." "Good" and "evil" are morals. Evil is killing someone who looked at you the wrong way, good is defending people from these types of actions. There are some angels who do dastardly things, while some demons try to keep the peace and help out those in trouble. Both groups tend to stick to themselves...and while most try to keep the peace, there always are some who go out of their way to be "righteous" and "pure," most notably the the governing military of both groups. And there are some who go out of their way to bring stability and tolerance into the mix...
I could keep going on backstory, but it's unrelated to these characters, and will just grow and grow as my mind continues to expand it. So, back to the characters!
Both characters gained a legendary status in their own right for their skills in battle, even though neither of them enjoyed engaging enemies just to fulfill military desire to keep the land "cleaned of angel/demon scum." Both were forced into military service for different reasons, and neither wanted to have any part in it, but were required to at the whim of even more powerful generals. Their formidable skills, when they did use them, earned them notoriety through the ranks of the other side, and sometimes their reputations immediately caused enemy troops to retreat without any bloodshed when they walked onto the battlefield.
Then both of their units ran into each other. While both of their units figured they had the advantage, these two ordered their units to stay back, knowing fully well who they were facing. And while they quickly began sparring...they enjoyed the ability to fight an opponent who was even with their own abilities. This enjoyment led to conversation in the fighting, and both realized they harbored no animosity towards each other, despite acknowledging the purpose of this engagement to be the elimination of the other. And then it hit them -- why not just disappear, and make it seem like they both died in fighting?
And then ... well ... they disappeared for a bit, during which they became good friends and sharpened their own skills, acting as ghosts to reprehend any serious acts of evil performed by either angelic or demonic forces. Of course, they eventually landed on the radar of both angelic and demonic military might, but they also gained support from many whom wanted to see a true peace in the atmosphere. In this particular story arc, no more events have unfolded yet...but they're bound to play out sooner or later.

I can't help but interpret a "scythe" above the left figure's head, especially with as much of an association as I have of those shapes and colors with a scythe I've seen in games before. This, combined with the strong attachment I have to the character on the right, solidifies my opinions on the title I chose, even if some people might think otherwise.

This deviates from your typical works, but I cannot chastise it; the piece is marvelously done. The elegant flowing shapes, each to form an image, are stunning upon the stark, white background you chose. Fabulous job!

To be fair, I've yet to see you chastise anything that I've created! I find something incredibly satisfying about how the shapes and colors mingle in a mostly negative space...this type of minimalism I find clean and enjoyable, even though I really don't pursue it as much as I should. This was a learning experience...and perhaps one of the best I think I've had for a while. There's multiple things that I explored with this, and seriously, I haven't had as much enjoyment working on something as I did with this for a while...and holy cow was I having tons of fun making things with it even before these figures decided to appear!

Thank you very much Without that pong session last night, none of it would have happened! I think that it's definitely worth pursuing more of these collaborative sessions in the future too
Even though this is heavily different than what I typically work with, I think I found a way to make it my own...without making major structure-breaking changes to the fractal.
