It probably is my favorite 3d piece that I have ever created. I spent a lot of time working on it, and everything turned out very well. I'd love to have access to C4D again someday...especially for abstracts...

That was my intent - one of the reasons why I tried to make it monochromatic and have some DoF was to make it seem more realistic.

it looks great i like the chess pieces they are so different from how most people see chess pieces and the island gives it a feeling of isolation. i like it

That was my intention! I think I hit the depth of field pretty well on it, and needless to say, I spent who knows how many hours making it from the start to what you see it at now. I'm wondering if I should continue making pieces in that style...

Thank you very much! I was messing around with landscapes and had an out-of-place chessboard waiting to be used for something and figured I'd try meshing both of them into one piece.
Experimentation and seeing what can be done always has given me inspiration.
