I bet that's totally how it would happen. Everything reminds him of a puzzle. Dates must be awkward. Actually, he's supposedly a world-renowned lecturer in-universe. His class must sit in awe as he constantly reminds himself of puzzles.

I looked at this twice and still can't get over loving this comic so much XD
I know! XD His timing is so horrible. I was searching for answers around town in the first game, and I tapped on a picture frame accidentally and ended up trying to solve a hidden puzzle or something, and Layton is like "Oh, I just thought up a puzzle!" and I shouted at my DS, "WTF?!" XD
Ah well, I still love the series~
