Description Did I mention I do commissions?: atg141.deviantart.com/art/Chao…

You may notice that my preference for crazy angles and emphasis on motion and
exaggerated poses isn't too prevalent here. This was due to the fact that (at the time of
writing) no official 2D work of Delphox has been released yet. So I thought I'd throw in
my own interpretation of the design for the hell of it and forgo the posing and angling to
put focus on the forms.

I did talk a bit about delphox in a journal earlier but I thought I might as well throw in the
other fraction of my two cents (The other one cent if you will) on the design.
I have heard a complaint or two on how it looks particularly anthro. Or rather, a little
too human. In many ways I'd have to agree. I've never been the one to really care if
something looks particularly furry (Spending over a year on DA does that to you). But I
can agree that it does look very human when it's supposed to be an animal. To the point
that it has naturally developed a tunic. Presumably made out of fur and thus attached to
it's body. It also goes as far as to completely ditch the paws in favour of a set of digits
that resemble a dewott's. But one very good point that has to be made is in the name of
what occurs to pokemon when they change form. They evolve. Taking it on a technical
level it's perfectly understandable in that case. It would make sense for a fox to develop
a bipedal stance and growing to strongly resemble a human. It evolved to look like that
(I don't claim this statement as my own. A friend pointed it out to me first). There are
worse offenders in terms of pokemon that look like people (Machoke anyone?) and it's
not like it was going to be much of a surprise to anyone. The general direction of where
it was going to go was very clear back when braixen was shown. It had clearly gone
bipedal and was looking to be sporting what looked to be a skirt-like ring of fur along it's
waste. So in conclusion I don't think it really has any shortcomings in terms of design. I
think it simply needs a bit more time for people to warm up to it as it has been the case
with almost all new mons in every gen prior. I for one like the design and I have a good
feeling that it'll be a force to be reckoned with.
