The general doesn't understand why Vile allows Marina and her friends to live this long as he believes them to be an annoyance. He confronts the group when the two guardians of light are not present, intending to dispose of them himself.*They are in the circus tent from Dumbo. Twisted used the amusement park version of the tent instead of the movie for colors.

Not quite. Vile is more interested with the guardians of light, doesn't care about the others.
Only reasons he keeps them alive is because he finds them assuming, or they might help uncover talismans of life or Alphas.
In truth he doesn't really need Marina and her friends to find the talismans and alphas, there are other ways to locate them.
Now if Thanatos attacked and kills the guardians then he would be violating Vile's orders.
