An interesting study. Almost on par with quarantine, I would think.

This drawing in particular is rather close to how I imagine quarantine would look, yes. In general, quarantine would be more stable than an isolated hard drive partition... It would simply look like a metal box, like a Faraday cage, as opposed to a section of a building or city block (depending on the size of the partition) that has become cut off from everything else and is going through energy fluctuations and sudden influx of useless signals.

If you can't tell, thinking about what real world computer problems would look like in the TRON universe is a huge interest of mine, haha

Your description of partitioning sounds more like the visual cut offs used in Reboot when a game would enter the system. I can't fathom it would be pleasant.

And ya better be careful, because you're starting to sound like Kevin Flynn's Legacy intro. "What did they look like? Ships? Motorcycles?"

Heh! I just have the mental image of a security program saying something like "On suspicion of malware activity, you will be sent to quarantine until further notice" and then you hear that female announcer on the Grid say "Warning: Incoming game" and the purple cube from ReBoot descends on the unfortunate program...

This is pretty close to what I imagine a quarantine on the Grid would look like: 68.media.tumblr.com/59a899f95d…

Well Kevin Flynn wasn't bad in the beginning. Actually I think he was doing a lot of good at first... In my interpretation, he populated the Grid using programs that he took from damaged/ obsolete hard drives, and he brought them to the Grid to save them. He only started screwing up really bad after the arrival of the ISOs... so as long as I only sound like Flynn in his early days, I should be fine
