Description
The Incident of Xuanwu Gate has always been the most notorious assassination incident and coup in the history of China. The 2nd prince of the Empire assassinated the crown prince and other brothers, and started a coup to force his father, Emperor Gaozu, to pass down the crown to him.[link]
This would indeed be the time when the best assassin is needed.

I'd love to have an assassin's creed game taking place at the time you mentionned in your description. The Tang dynasty is a very interesting period to me.

An Oriental assassin would have been nice. Asia, in general, has an expansive history that fits perfect with the story. The games began in Asia, in the Middle East (Jerusalem), so returning would be fitting and to the grand scene of upheaval that China saw more than once.

It was at the beginning of the Tang Dynasty. It's basically a fight of the throne between the sons of Li Yuan(Emperor Gaozu of Tang). If you want to know more you can check out the link that Chaoyuanxu had posted in the description.

Ah. That explains why it wasn't familiar. Most of my Chinese history know-how is focused on Romance of the Three Kingdoms era and more modern times.
