A long, waited for commission forSchool was getting in the way of me finishing this and I finally had time tonight!!

I have to say, I think this one is my favorite. The drawing is outstanding, I love the simple two toned background, it really makes him pop! The shadow as a combination of reflection off the glassy surface of the floor and the shadow of the creature itself is perfection! So many of your other four legged subjects don't have a shadow, and in my opinion, don't look finished because they're just floating. When there is no background, a simple shadow makes all the difference in the piece. (Just my opinion)

Most of the time I have people commission me transpartent pieces, so that implies that they don't want a background or a shadow. Otherwise, in my more realistic works that do have a background, I put a shadow. I also make 'flat' pieces that don't have any shading as requested by the commissioner.
