► :: I D E N T I T Y :: ◄
Name: Kangee
    Alias(es):

Sex: Male
Age: 2 Years; Young Adult

Bloodline(s): Timber/Mountain
    Height: Current 32 inches ; Mature 35 inches
    Weight: Current 105 pounds; Mature 122 pounds

Voice: Adam Lambert
Mannerisms: Kangee tends to walk with his head slung low and his shoulders up, as though constantly stalking something.

Physical Description: While not a particularly small wolf, Kangee has rather dainty features. Long, slender legs and petite paws, with a deep chest and slender frame. He's a perfectly built                 runner. His golden yellow eyes stand out in sharp contrast to the dark blue-grays of his fur, and, alongside his slow, predatory way of moving, can make most anyone feel like prey.

          Kangee has short, dense fur, with impressively long hackles along his neck and shoulders. His coat is thus far unblemished by scars or other maladies, though it may smell a bit...mildewy, at times, thanks to the damp nature of his home.

    Rare Traits/Birth Traits: N/A

Pack/Guild: Morass
    Rank: Tier 2 Bruiser

► :: P E R S O N A L I T Y :: ◄
Traits
     Curious, Thoughtful, Adventurous, Compassionate
     Impulsive, Independent, Suspicious, Rebellious
     Reckless, Lonely, Foolish, Insecure
In Depth: Kangee is...complicated. His upbringing has left him with several social handicaps and a low sense of self worth. His parents tried to squash out his compassion and care-free nature, and he feels stirrings of guilt whenever he indulges in activities they would deem unproductive or frivolous. To make up for his insecurity, Kangee overcompensates. A lot. He shows off, brags, and generally acts like he's absolutely full of himself. He can be brash and tactless, even cruel. He doesn't mean to be, but having been raised in relative isolation he never really developed many social skills, and until recently had never met a wolf he wasn't related to. His parents constant criticisms and tendency to bully him and his siblings sort of ingrained those behaviors into him, and he believes they're normal. He's never experienced normal, healthy relationships, and it will take him a long time to process the neglect and abuse he suffered and unlearn his unhealthy behaviors.

    Despite his issues, Kangee can be a great deal of fun. Impulsive and reckless, he'll be the one to drag you along on an impromptu adventure, or pitch hare-brained schemes. He's incredibly curious and eager to learn, especially about other wolves. This, and to some extent, the loneliness he feels after leaving his family, drives him to be a terrible gossip. He laps up rumors and personal information like honey.

    His lack of knowledge about the world can lead Kangee to make mistakes that would be easily avoided by most. He can be incredibly naive and foolish; though he learns quickly from these errors.

    Because of his poor experiences with authority from a young age, Kangee has become an incredibly independent and rebellious wolf. While he craves social interaction, he will insist that he doesn't need help, and ignore or snap at any attempts to boss him around. Even elder brother Chaska, the only family Kangee still has contact with, isn't safe. His younger littermate will take advantage of his intimate relationship and knowledge of Chaska to make scathing remarks and jabs if he feels Chaska is stepping on his toes. Of course, this can incite fights, but the one thing Kangee can't seem to learn is when he's beat. Even though Chaska is larger and stronger than him, and has proven it many times, Kangee won't back down; the same is true for just about anyone who gets in his way. He might find himself in a spot of trouble someday, when he inevitable pisses off someone who won't hesitate to seriously hurt him.

► :: H I S T O R Y :: ◄
Pre-Group History: Kangee was born into a highly conservative and traditionalist pack, consisting of only his parents and his littermates; brothers Chaska and Eyanosa, and sister Keezheekoni.     As they were the first litter, their upbringing was extremely isolated. His parents were the only adults in their lives, and they were often left alone for hours or even days while they were hunting or patrolling the borders of their small territory.

    Once they were old enough to leave the den, Kangee dreaded his parent's departures. When they were gone, the pups were ordered back inside the den until their return, and he absolutely could not stand the hours of boredom underground. Within ten minutes he'd grow fidgety and restless; tapping his paws, biting his own tail, squirming...he'd turn to his siblings for entertainment quickly, poking, prodding, biting, whining...he was a nightmare. He wouldn't be the first to break the rules and leave the den, but he'd sure as hell make it hard for his littermates to resist bolting out into the open. And, more often than not, it was Chaska who led the charge. Whether he was just as bored as Kangee, or sick of his brother's whining, Kangee didn't know, but he eagerly followed Chaska out into the open. The two of them often caused, and got into, trouble together. Sister Keezheekoni tried her best to keep them in line, but Chaska was oldest, and, well, Kangee was quickly getting sick of anyone bossing him around.

    Kangee wasn't a weak pup, per say, but he was perhaps the least gifted of his siblings. Chaska was the favored first born, naturally skilled in most areas. Eyanosa was huge and powerful. Keezheekoni never seemed to tire. And Kangee, well, Kangee was fast. Fast in short bursts. He was slender and built to run, but he had little stamina, and his strength couldn't match his brothers. So, little Kangee was often the recipient of harsh criticisms. At first he worked hard to please his parents, practicing running with his sister to increase his stamina, wrestling with his brothers constantly, but he could never match up. Though he improved immensely, it was never good enough, and as he grew into adolescence, Kangee began to resent his parents.

    For a time, he also resented his siblings. He found himself bitter and alone, grumpy and snappish. Chaska followed their parent's examples, and often Kangee would snap back at him, or at their sister. He developed a rebellious streak a mile wide, and with it, a love of the water.

    There was little water on their territory, a single watering hole and perhaps a short-lived stream when the rains were heavy. Swimming or playing in it was expressly forbidden; his parents feared it would make the water undrinkable. From the first time he saw it, Kangee had longed to dive in. As a pup he'd toe the water line, splashing and running in to his belly whenever his parents looked away. He was always given away by his wet fur, and received harsh reprimands, but nothing could quell his desire to swim. So, as his resentment towards his family grew, Kangee began to visit the watering hole alone. At first he'd just stand in the shallows, enjoying the cool waves lapping at his ankles. To some extent, he believed what his parents said; that playing in the water would ruin it. But as his visits became more frequent, he grew reckless, and decided he didn't give a damn.

    Kangee waded out into the water and began to swim. He was clumsy at it, but he felt such a thrill when his paws left the bottom, and he spent ages practicing just past the shallows, until he'd become a confident swimmer. He created a make-shift den nearby, somewhere he could be alone, and a place to rest and dry off after a swim.

    As he and his siblings reached a year old, Akecheta and Makawee bore a second litter. Kangee's feelings were mixed. For a time, as his mother grew round and heavy, it fueled his resentment. He wasn't good enough for them, so they were trying again. Assholes. He was sure he'd hate his new siblings, and he had to fight to keep from sneering when he brought his heavily pregnant mother food or water.

    When the pups were born, though, Kangee couldn't hate them. The four tiny whelps were so...so helpless. Innocent. Kangee found himself protective of these new lives. He would keep them safe.

    As they finally left the den, all eyes were on Odakota. While Teetonka, Chilali, and Dakota eagerly explored and played, Odakota slowed down quickly and grew tired. Kangee was immediately drawn to his smallest brother; that was him. He had been quickest to tire, easiest to pick on. And pick on him they did. Odakota didn't catch up. He had little interest in racing or fighting; he liked to sing. His wobbly little voice would ring out, weaving stories, and as his siblings grew tired they would stop to listen.

    Akecheta and Makawee quickly tried to stomp this out. They were harsh with Odakota; whenever he sang, they would make him rejoin the fray. The little pup tried, he ran himself ragged, and with a pang Kangee once more saw himself. He did his best to protect Odakota from their parents, and Chaska's, harsh rebukes. When Odakota grew particularly exhausted, he'd sit and quiz the pup on whatever he could think of; give him a chance to rest and catch his breath without being yelled at. And when his parents and siblings left him to look after the pups while they hunted, he'd let Odakota sing. Encouraged it, even; with a sly wink and a smile to the other pups. A 'this is our secret' grin. Those times, when Odie sang for them, or turned his siblings games into fantastical stories, were some of his favorite memories.

    His efforts weren't enough, though. One night, Odakota went missing. Kangee wanted to go after him, tried, but when his parents gave a firm 'no,' well...despite himself, Kangee obeyed. And Odakota never came back.

    Keezheekoni left soon after. She was the most visibly torn up about Odakota's death. Kangee retreated into himself, numb and angry and distraught. He spent most nights alone, by the watering hole, and he saw her go. He was sure she saw him, but neither said a word, and he wasn't surprised when she didn't turn up the next day. Or ever again. He expected something from his parents then, but there was nothing. They didn't grieve for Odakota, and they said nothing of Keezheekoni's sudden departure.

    A short time passed, and then Chaska was leaving, too. His brother announced his departure, as though it had nothing to do with their siblings. Kangee knew him well, though, and he could tell Chaska was as uncomfortable with their parents negligence and lack of care as the rest of them.

    Kangee was miserable without them. His sister could be obnoxious and overbearing, but he missed her. He missed racing her, the friendly teasing between them. And he missed Chaska. His brother was flawed too, but Kangee had always felt closest to him. Even if he could be a bully, Chaska never left him out, and he was easiest to talk to and banter with. Now it was him and Eyanosa, and, well, they didn't get on. He stayed though, longer than he probably should have, for the sake of his younger siblings. He was terrified of them meeting Odakota's same fate.

    As the months passed and they all grew older, though, Kangee found it more and more difficult to put up with his parents. Finally, when Makawee was being particularly harsh, Kangee snapped at her. He stepped between her and his siblings, and told her to leave well enough alone. The look on her face was shock, and then fury. She and Akecheta descended on him in a flurry of harsh words and anger. Kangee stared them down through their tirade, and when they'd finished, he turned without a word, and left.

    He didn't know where Keezheekoni had gone, but he knew the general direction Chaska started in, and he followed. The scent trail was long gone, but Kangee hoped that with some luck he'd find his brother again. He found the Morass first. Or, more precisely, found their intoxicating flowers. He followed the alluring scent, and without a second thought, ate about as many of the blossoms as he could stomach.

    Safe to say, Kangee had the trip of a lifetime. He wandered into the mists, giggly and having a grand old time. Quickly, though, things went south. His trip took a nasty turn and Kangee had a terrible couple of days sweating it out. When he finally came to, there was Chaska, grinning that stupid, smug grin. Kangee had never been more happy to see it in his life.
