There was a pretty sizable crowd gathered at the Pan American Arena in downtown Dallas to view the All-Southern States Judo Championship. Not that Tracey couldn't handle it. Her formerly brief pro-boxing career prepared her to stay loose and cool under the intense scrutiny of spectators.

Tracey enjoyed the attention when she was a boxer but this wasn't an arena where the spotlight was inside the ring; to everybody there and to the staff and organizers, she was just another name on a list of hopeful competitors, pure and simple. In some ways, Tracey preferred it that way.

A lot less pressure to have to deal with.

Into the first round of prelims, and the action was about to begin.

Tracey was up against a 25-year-old brown-belt from Louisiana named Rayna Sinclaire. From where she stood in the areas before stepping into the tatami, Tracey stole a quick glance over to her upcoming opponent. Rayna and her coach were prepping before the bout, the dark blonde psyching herself up.

Tracey and her Sensei and coach for the tournament, Erika Braxton, chatted briefly before the start of prelims. In essence, Sensei Erika told her to do her best, and if at all possible, kick ass as much as possible.

The combatants were signaled to approach their respective sections of the tatami for their bouts, Tracey and Rayna taking the far end. They made their respective bows before entering the fighting area, bowed to each other, the official referee called, "Hajime!", and Tracey's bout with Ranya began.

Here we go, ladies and gentlemen, Tracey thought wistfully, stepping closer to engage her opponent, her gray eyes not taking their focused look away from the blonde standing only a few meters away.

The show is about to begin.

The gals were busy sizing each other up, making a wary circuit around each other, then they approached close for Kumi-kata before the Referee would penalize them for non-combative behavior.

A few brief intense sessions of pulling and tugging passed by, Tracey feeling how strong her opponent's grip was on her thick top, but she could give just as good as she got and before Rayna knew it, thanks to a sudden burst of speed and fancy footwork, the Posh Princess was gaining the advantage.
