Hmm, so far I've searched for some songs and some pictures and it's been able to locate it lol.
I have 3 music folders on 2 different drives and walls/photos literally scattered all over the drives. It isn't blazing fast but got the job done for me

Gtk = Leopard Matte by spliceosome here on DA (modded a bit by me to suit my taste)
Wall = I'll upload for you later when I'm back home
Icons = from Neodesktop's gallery (here on DA)
Dock = AWN with a transparent BG
I don't use Conky

either side seems two pixels wide while bottom is invisible or maybe it's just the image resizing that betrays.

Yeah, it's the emerald.. I've kept it like that to get the shadows a bit more like OSX. It's not perfect, can use some work

Emerald takes over the shadowing from compiz... you do '/usr/bin/emerald --replace' to activate Emerald and then it takes over. Emerald has it's own options for border width and shadow radius etc.
I've tried googling but I haven't found a way to make them work together

compiz fusion has emerald plugin [link] but i've never tried.
