Seen this Dash9-40C yesterday railfanning. If you look closely you can see D9-40CW in sted of just C like it should be. now i'm not sure if this engine was in a crash and got a stanert nose or a CW cab and one with info please let me know. ^^Related content

According to the main NS roster, she's a plain ol' C40-9, so I think somebody at Chattanooga wasn't thinking when she got repainted into Horsehead... a pretty interesting catch, though! Always nice to have a bit of a rarity among the Dash 9's.

I figure some one made a mistake and yes its good to have a rarity out there gives you some thing to look for.

Ah yes its on the Northeast corridor coming out of frankford junction in philadelhpia pa.

I'm inclined to agree. I would think that the wide nose configuration would be easier to restore than this config. And this looks factory-fresh metalwork.
