*edit* i'm honored this was featured as a daily deviation, thanks so much! for those who asked this was painted in photoshop, with a few bits sketched on paper first and scanned in. I'm not sure how long it took but it was a whilesooo i havent updated in a really long time. its not like i havent been drawing, ive been drawing a lot, but i sort of just stopped uploading them. im tryin to get back in the groove now tho
I probably should have spent less time on this than i did...but its pretty awesome so i guess it's worth it. gonna give props to sir barnabas ([link] ) for makin me think about how badass elites are and makin me want to draw this.
i think this is the last halo thing ill do cuz its basically fan art, and you know...fan art...but its cool.
ps. also props to my sweet heart for her honest critiques and comments, it wouldn't have come out as good without them

Very nice and impressive colouring and lightning. The reflecting of the light in the fur and skin is fabulous. The only thing to criticize is the size of the energy sword, but whatever

Great colors, they really blend together well. Especially the explosion in the background, though I hope not to bother you, but the elite's fingers that are loose seem too small that is to me, but other than that great work. Really interesting feeling in there.

love the use of color and light in this, and i'm on a computer with a really desaturated screen! 
on other things, i like how you made it a pparent that, for example, metal is metal and cloth is cloth. like on the armof the elite, the lighting coming off of the metal is brighter and more textured than the on the cloth (?). is it cloth? lol Banshi!!

obviously the lighting is awesome, as is the coloring, but I esspecially like the small detail of the funky 2 fingered 2 thumbed hand on the gy in the armor. He looks like he could be a human, but apparently he's freaky alien guy. very nice.

the only thing that could have used some improvement is the pose of the Elite, he just doesn't look angry enough :/

yeah, it is pretty damned awesome.
as for the pose, I imagine it to be the moment just after the attack....cold, totally controlled 'cool before he pulls the sword back out to fight another.
