Description
The rogue Russian general is cornered by the Secret Agent, just in time to stop the nukes...or is it?This was my entry for the Secret Agent Challenge on cgsociety, it was a lot of fun. You can see some progress shots here
Edit: Wow thanks for the Daily Deviation!!! I really appreciate it. Thank you to everyone for visiting my site and commenting!
a note: For anyone a little insulted that the bad guys are "always the russians." This is a Cold War scenario, and the Cold War = USA and Russia. Whose to say that the Secret Agent himself isn't Russian?

i'm not Russian, and i know its a cold war scenario, but i do wonder why the Russians are always the enemy. Why not the Chinese? or some Middle Eastern Country? i never understand why that is.

Modern day wise I'd say those two are always the bad guys. But think of it like this. Who's the only bastards that got the balls to pull the trigger? Russians don't fuck around and arent sneaky like the chinese and arent as stupid as the middle east. They'll always be a USA vs USSR/Russia crap becuase the two are so well matched. Perfect enemys that could destroy the world if wared with each other. But I agree that it's gotten old and over used. But still this picture is amazing and I like to think thats a russian agent. Becuase russia can handle it's self. Why? Cuz they be badasses. GO MOTHER RUSSIA and My homeland U.S.A!

They were competing with us during the cold war. Its the reason why we have so many nukes, VS Nervegas, etc and the same for them. Communism is the OPPOSITE of Capitalism, yada yada...

because the Russians are the only ones smart enough, well equiped enough, and determined enough to ever be a threat the U.S.
although I agree in this day and age they're practically allies

I will tell you as an American, Russia is the only country I believe could kick our ass Harder then any other. You guys are tough and proud and are worthy of respect! Your military is top notch and you make the best badasses in any show, movie, video game and so on! But most of all your the only country that if we fought, it could destroy entire lands with out the nukes. So in short, Respect from America!

"Whose to say that the Secret Agent himself isn't Russian?" Well you can tell the mad guys Russian from his epic beard, and I don't blame him for being mad since he's being aimed at by a gun. Thanks for hearing me out. Piegoose signing off

General vs. agent, oldie vs. newbie, chaotic good vs. lawful evil, just awesome!
The general reminds me about Samuel Vimes from sir Pratchett's book series. It's really cool, you can sense the tension in general's eyes. The background is really realistic, and two corpses give this scene even more suspense.

dude, the font! it hurts my eyes to see that in such a good picrture
first, post-process those a little, the text doesn't really blend. you know what I mean - add a tone gradient, grain or something else to blend it with the screen.
second, I don't kno what military did use on their screens (I doubt they had such UI-rich computer screens at all), but I'm certain they weren't using no modern era sans-serif fonts. those look look quite alien in russian.

a-eh, Russians again... look around. we did NOT killed thousands of people in Iraq, Afghanistan, Livia, Syria, Vietnam... We did NOT fed up terrorists, blew up our citizens, likewise your government at 9/11... We did NOT converted to radioactive ash thousands of civilians like you in 1945... Enough? Oh, yeah, we are evil, our only dream is to destroy all over the world, especially your country, and, ah, i forgot the main, yes, we eat children and drink vodka with bears on the Red Square. Because your propaganda told so. Go on, "democracy" Sorry for my English.

The atmosphere is so tense, you could cut the air with a knife.
Really awesome picture, you can really feel the tension between them. I also really like the whole rogue general and secret agent thing. Gives me sort of James Bond vibes. Or just any spy-movie, really.

Absolutely brilliant work, the expression of the Russian general is just spot-on for this sort of encounter, and the lighting is especially awesome. Really just a top-quality piece of work, in all aspects. Excellent job.

Wow, your Mad Russkie really really hates Atlanta, since it's getting the same level attack as NYC.
Hmm, he's targetting Richmond VA, an ecomonically depressed area with no military targets, and hoping the edge of the attack will take out the huge complex of military bases downriver in the Norfolk/Va Beach/Hampton/Newport News area. Wonder if he lost someone to lung cancer, as half the tobacco companeies are headquartered in Richmond.
DisneyWorld is left untouched but good luck getting to it.

But, infact, I do know better. And sir, I just simply adore you for lavishing my eyes with such genuinely fine artwork such as this.

Fantastic! Love the form on the general's face as well as the bit of story telling with the kane. I am Russian and I think that "process" might be spelled with 1 s in Russian. I might be wrong though.
I love the touch with Ottawa and Washington. Well done! It would be fun for me to paint the opposite scenario with an American general gone mad. hmmm.
