I'm a fan of the stories of Jedi and Sith when the sides are not so black and white- Some Jedi get up to evil stuff, and Sith are just as capable of good etc.I've been wanting to do this piece ever since my "Jedi in a snowstorm" piece.

there is a reason why i like Jedi Sentinels they were basically like wandering lawmen. on the side of good but not afraid to break a few rules to get results. they utilized both Light side powers and Dark side powers, and understood that the galaxy worked in shades of grey not just black and white.Β
love the use of shadows in this gives the whole piece a nice gloomy feel to the swamp.Β

I love that your contrast in size and color (with the lightsabers) makes the (assumed) jedi the focus of the picture. Also love your texture and style of painting! Very well done!

You seriously need to check out the Imperial Knights.
They are the protectors of the Fel Dynasty of Emperors in a time in the future when the Empire once again reigns over the galaxy, though it is far more benevolent than Palpatine's regime. Basically they take the middle ground between the Sith and the Jedi: They don't suppress their emotions, but neither do they let their desires totally rule them. They also view the Force as a tool to be used, but not one to be abused. And the coolest thing? Their lightsaber blades are silver.

Man you really need to run a smart sharpen filter on this, the edges look kinda blurry! Trust me it will bring out your brush strokes and edges a lot!

Very epic. I like the effect of this style with the small but definite character and the enormous antagonist. Works particularly well with the organically posed antagonists, The AT-ATs and AT-STs could easily be animals.

Ok really cool, BUT Sith doing good? I don't recall any incidence of that, the Empire sometimes isn't always evil but the Sith are pretty much always doing evil stuff. Some Jedi fall to the dark side and don't become Sith, like what happened to Zayne Garrick's master, but yeah, Sith... always bad in my book.

actually, many Sith have done great things. ajunta pall and sorzus syn parted their ways with the Jedi order because they believed in an different philosophy. revan and malak fought the mandalorians, they just did what was necessary and what couldn't be done as an Jedi who strictly follows the Jedi code. you can find good intentions in basically any real Sith lord.Β
the Jedi are more dogmatic and arrogant in their way, they only see one half of an greater plane and force their believes on everyone else while the Sith are basically operating around the most basic naturally concepts. natural selection, favoring of the strong over the weak, passion as the driving force of anything.Β

People seem to forget that the Sith represent passion and freedom just as much as greed and tyranny and I actually find that I relate to them a lot more than the forced order of the Jedi.
I'd love to see a story where the Sith isn't necessarily the bad guy. Even Anakin "fell" for good reasons and part of me wonders if the Jedi didn't ostracize the Sith so stringently if there wouldn't be a way for them to learn to control those impulses that eventually corrupt them rather than being consumed by them.

normally i hate self promotion butβ¦try this if you are partially fluent in german. itΒ΄s kind of an alternate storyline to knights of the old republic I & II and the old republic centering around an mixed jedi and sith philosophy.
