YES I have no idea why "Feeling blue" is a negative saying, I mean... you use it to say you feel bad. I was quite confused when I realised it was so

I know! Some people when they "sing the blues", they mean blues music, and it makes them feel better! (?) But if you "have the blues" it means you're not feeling good...expressions in English can be kind of strange sometimes...
