Description Here's another map I made for the book I recently illustrated Kado: Lost Treasure of the Kadohadacho, a great historical adventure novel about a pioneer family's journey into uncharted Louisiana.  And oh, lookee here, I just happen to have this link to drop in here, shamelessly,

amzn.to/2NhwMN2 . if you get the book using my link, I may get a commission from Amazon so enywuys...

I spent some time developing my look and feel for the texture of these maps, because naturally I wanted them all to match, with the slightly faded paper, and particularly the look and feel of the ink. Getting a bit of natural ink bleed took some serious experimenting with.  For this one the only other main problem was it had to work in color, in duotone, and in black and white, because it's printed in the book on the regular paper, not the inset paper. And so all the titles had to be readable at 6.5"x10" or whatever trade paperback is.  Fitting all the information on to one sheet was a challenge, but I'm so happy with the result.  I put all the paper and inking textures and brushes that I made for this in a pack and shipped it to the patrons.  thank you patrons!

It did make it into the book, but this one's in duotone in the hardcover and black and white in the softcover...so this fullcolor version is only online.  but the other versions look great too.

Ah. I found it on page 140.  I flipped through several times and missed it. It has a lot of similarity to the two-page spread on pp. 16-17.
