Description
DA has literally hundreds of pictures of night elfs, trolls, orcs, taurens and male dwarves. In the interest of trying to address the balance I present to you Fire Rose my female dwarven warrior. I have not, to date, come across a single other picture of a female dwarf character from World of Warcraft. I don't think I would be too far off the mark saying that they are probably the least most popular toon type you'll find. I have two lady dwarves, the other being Cedar Fox who is my hunter. Presently I'm power leveling a male blood elf hunter by the name of Lycidas. (Which incidently is actually a real name. It means 'son of a wolf'. kewl huh!) He's being played paired with my husbands female blood elf warlock. Which is kinda' wierd when you think about it. It's cause he won't play male BE because he reckon's they're ... er... unmanly and I won't play females because I think they're anorexic.I completed this pic several months ago. It's only just occured to me now that I should post it here. Enjoy.

I love Fire Rose.Β Her body proportions are correct w/o being over-emphasized.Β Love the round, cherubic face and bright eyes.Β You could at least have given her a stocking cap or some such head gear to keep her blonde noggin warm.

You may not be around anymore, but to your statement I say BS. Lol. GNOMES AND GOBLINS are the least favorite WoW races. Of course, you did this in 2007, but I bet I can find plenty of female dwarf pics. I just did a search and found this lol.

Would you feel comfortable submitting this image into the Battle Ready Womyn group? [link] Were a group dedicated to realistically armoured women warriors and respectful interpretations of them and feel this artwork fits group qualifications. Hope you chose to contribute! (This would be best submitted into the Metal Ages and/or Fantasy folders. You choose!)

She is awesome looking! I had a rogue dwarf in DA. I also have a female dwarf rogue and female dwarf DK in WoW. I like their full figure!

YES!!! Finally! I have a rogue dwarf that I totally adore, and I do have an in-progress fanart of her but it is pale in comparison to yours. xD

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORF
Ahem.
On a slightly saner note: Orc women are about as hard to find as dwarf women, I imagine. I think I've seen less than ten, ever, anywhere, and I play two of them.
That said. Love the picture! You really nailed the textural contrast between cloak and paldrons, even though they're almost the same color. And I LOVE the hair and face!

I'm on Moonguard and in an ALL DWARF heavy role playing guild and I think out of the 60 something characters in the guild, only 10 - 13% are female. Me being one of them, I love this picture, I really wish there was more art of the female dwarves, because its so hard to find artists who will draw them correctly.

I got a dwarven female rogue! Too bad I suck at drawing way too much to ever make a decent picture of her. I think I was the first on my server to roleplay a dwarven female.

What a lovely picture! IMHO most female dwarves either just look like males (and I mean JUST, blech) or like chubby elves or halflings. This one kind of does, too, but your gal looks stout enough to be more dwarf than halfing. Saved, what nice work

Dwarven Females are the only alliance race I'll play. : O
And I'll have to say that there are more Dwarves than there are Trolls, since Trolls are the least played race. Just gotta give some love, that's why we draw'em so much. *_*

Awesome! I love the lady dwarves- I should make a picture of my dwarf paladin Ameila!
The background that you painted is lovely, and I like all the details on her armor.

This is a great picture! I love female dwarfs. My first D&D character I had was a female dwarf and I've had a soft spot for them ever since. She is just so cute I love it. I also really like how she looks happy and cheerful. I do get tired of people always portraying dwarfs as grumpy or gruff. I must say I really like the way World of Warcraft designed their dwarfs, especially the females. Lovely work here .

Thanks. I think female dwarfs are severly overlooked by artists which is one of my motivations for drawing one. Plus Rose IS my main character. I wanted her to look sexy and sweet while still being unmistakeably a warrior capable of wielding that humongous axe.

You're welcome . I agree female dwarfs don't get enough attention from artists. That's so cool you have Rose as your main character, I like to play a female dwarf for D&D often times too. I do love the combination Rose presents. She diffinately looks sweet and sexy, but as you say I'm sure she can wield that axe as well if not better than the next human, dwarf, or orc! Way to go

very lovely and painterly! You've caught the dwarf personality very well! i agree, I play a female dwarven priest and as a female myslef I love the char cuz shes kinda like my real self >.< but it seems they arn't high on the popularity chart. I think it stems from them being so different from what people think of women when they draw (rather than stout, strong and full of culture), getting it right is challenging.
Anyhow, kudos, and look forward to more female dwarves from ya!

I guess Blizzard didn't want to make them Tolkein-esque lady dwarves, who have beards just like the men. I would have guessed she was a Halfling who fancied shoes or something.
Still, killer pic.

I think you're right about there being a distinct lack of female dwarves in WoW fanart. Anyway, this one is a lovely job, equal to any pro illustration I've ever seen. I could see it being on a Dragon magazine cover back in the eighties.
