With "sweet baby corn" as her catchphrase, it was tempting to include Molly McGee in this one, but I couldn't stop thinking of all the fun ways corn plays a part in this season, so I decided to use all of them in a pamphlet for an annual Harvest Festival in the fictional town of Okanahaw, several towns away from Brighton. It even includes the traditional "crying the neck" (otherwise known to fans of the anime "Spice and Wolf" as "Catching the Wolf"), in which a great honor is given whoever harvests the last stalk from the field. Doing this since they met in 2020, Joey Wren and his girlfriend Halia Akamai finally won the titles of King and Queen of the Crop in 2022, and (despite being invisible in that moment) Joey's ghostly twin sister Jenny couldn't resist photo-bombing, thus the glowing ball of light in the winner's photo that's been confused up to date for glare or dust on the lens. Will they win again this year, or will the corncob crowns go to someone else? Either way, they're going to have fun.
