Description
This is an attempt at a comic page (a rather sloppy one, I admit, but it carries the plot well enough) that acts as a prequel/companion-piece for GShepherd17's "Grocery Run" ( www.deviantart.com/gshepherd17… ), but it is also a bit of a spin-off for the 1988 film "John Carpenter's They Live".

I only seen clips of that particular film, but I probably seen enough to grasp the concept of the plot and it got me thinking THAT kind of scenario is a perfect outlet for Vex's Cold Blood powers: the ability to see through disguises both literally (she can tell one of the grocery store employees is really an alien and her watch is really a communication device) and spiritually (she can see hidden emotions and personality traits, as shown by the colorful glowing "shadows") , and the ability to immune herself to all kinds of mind control from subliminal messages to witchcraft.

This particular piece took me several weeks to perfect down to the tiniest detail, so I am not really in the mood for rewriting all that I've already written in this comic. Here's hoping that you'd be able to make out what is being said and thought trough my sloppy handwriting.
