I honestly can't stop drawing Steven Universe fan art right now. After last week's episode, Story for Steven, everyone and their mother can't stop talking about how cute the Gems were in their 80's style outfits. I couldn't resist the temptation and just had to draw Pearl, especially when she got so jealous regarding her singing ability. I had to follow that up somehow... Buuut I also couldn't just leave her crying like that, so I threw in the one and only Rose Quartz to help her cheer up.I understand that Pearl's a little on the blue side here, my bad. I know she blushes blue, but I had actually forgotten that her skin usually has more of a very, VERY pale pink tone. It's also been confirmed that the soles of her feet are actually a very rosy pink, too. Something I will undoubtedly need to take into account for the future~ Until then!!

You know when I watched that episode I never saw her feet for the second picture. I've noticed there are alternate versions, maybe I watched the wrong one.

When I posted this to Tumblr, I mentioned that I tried to channel my inner Raven Molisee, one of the show's storyboard artists. Formerly an artist for Ed, Edd n' Eddy, she's usually casted to do the more emotionally charged episodes, including An Indirect Kiss, Rose's Scabbard, and The Return. Any time Pearl makes an over-the-top expression, especially those sadder moments, you can guarantee it was Raven's. And that's exactly what I went for in that fourth panel

Every time we've seen Rose up to this point, it's always been a really emotional moment. This last episode with her was very sweet and happy, but some of the others just made me wanna cry. It still hurts knowing she and Steven can never coexist, but she obviously loves him so much.

Thank you! Yeah, it was a great one! I am admittedly sad for Greg for essentially throw away his career just to be with Rose... But we all know it was for the best. Also Marty was a total scumbag.
