Description
A sculpt based on this drawing here...[link]
This is an image of my first sculpt, done in Sculpey Extra Firm and primered, ready for some refining (pretty rough in spots) then paint, which I'll be working on shortly.
Stands 4 1/4 " from base of her foot to the top of her head, or about 120 mm.

omygod. this is amazing, so much detail at THAT size!? I've done some sculpty projects for fun in the past but they were so much crappier than this haha xD
You're a really talented sculptor!! And you're saying this is your first sculpture? o___O LIES!!
How do you smoothen the surfaces? I mean, it's too small to use your fingers, right?
AAaahh *really impressed* keep it up!

Haha, thanks very much.
Indeed it's the first thing I've sculpted to this level, I've played around for awhile learning things I needed to know, but this will be the first time putting it all together into a project.
Umm, regarding smoothing surfaces, two important things that I can share, one is to use brushes to smooth the sculpey while working with it, and using 99% rubbing alcohol with more soft brushes to smooth it out.
If you have some rough surface, then wash alcohol over it, then you can use your brush to brush the surface, gently evening it out with patience.
Thank you so much for the compliment, hope this helps!

wuh? You rub alchohol on it!? 0_0 haha I wouldve never thought of that... wait, is 'rubbing alchohol' different from just any liquid containing alot of alchohol? like alchohol for cleaning and such?
This is exciting, I definitely wanna try it out!! thanks

Yeah, you want to use pure Isopropyl at 90% or higher (I use 99% rawr) concentration or it will be too weak to affect the polymer.
Like, if you have a rough area that needs smoothing, rake it down with a stiff brush dipped in alcohol, then you can use softer brushes and gradually brush down the surface to even it out. Very brushy, very effective.
Once you're done with that, you can use one of those ultra soft makeup sponges with a little water soaked up in it to give the surface a "wash" and smooth the clay even more. It's a process, takes some work.
