Chapter 6: Letters
At school.....

"Class, today Zack will be absent because he doesn't feel well"

*murmur*

Everybody was looking at me like I really have the responsibility to visit him. But I really do have the responsibility as his girlfriend right ? well I'm inexperienced about this love thing I just felt this feeling a month ago maybe, just then after our teacher went out Alice came at me.

"Lucy, you should visit Zack. You must be very worried. And don't forget to bring some fruits for him to eat." She thoughtfully said.

"What fruits do you suggest that I should bring for Zack ?" I asked.

Alice's giving me a positive face while responding "I guess mangoes, bananas would be just fine right ? or maybe I suggested something wrong......."

"No, No, No..... Alice why don't you come with me and visit Zack ?

"Ahmmm....... I can't I have something to do this afternoon, Sorry Lucy" Alice sadly said.

"No. It's fine. I can manage. Well, I guess."

Alice said her goodbye and continued to do her certain work. I decided to ask to ask Zack's friend where he lives and without disappointment they gave me a map to his house. After school......... I was outside his house and my hands were trembling while pointing my index finger towards their doorbell. After a few minutes I finally rang the doorbell, few seconds after maybe 5 seconds the door opened and with my surprise it was Zack !

"Uhmmm...... Zack ? how are you ?" I said outside the gate.
"I'm fine." He said with a low voice. We entered their house together, their house was clean and was arranged.

"My room is upstairs" he invited as we were climbing the stairs he suddenly fainted.

"Zack ! Zack ! are you okay ?" I hurriedly carried him to his room, placed him on his bed. I panicked. I didn't know what to do.

"This is my first time taking care of the sick. W-w-what should I do ?" I questioned myself. "First things first uhmmm...  medicine, first aid kit what else do I need ? aaaah~ this is kind of frustrating"

"L-Lucy is t-t-that you ?" Zack spoke, gaining consciousness.

"Yes, Zack, It's me. Are you feeling okay now ?" I worriedly said.

He tried to stand but fell. "I guess not"

"Ah ! right I'll make some tea for you just wait here okay ?"

As I stood Zack grabbed my hand to stop me and said "No I'm gonna be fine as long as you're by my side"

"But Zack---"

"No I'm gonna be fine, just stay with me okay ?" he interrupted.

Hours passed when Zack fell asleep in my lap, my legs were feeling numb just then when I thought that I should make tea. I removed his head in my lap his sleeping face was SO CUTE !!! I snatched a picture of him and giggled. I ran towards their kitchen, very happy having his sleeping face in my phone. I arrived at their kitchen, I looked for some teas to prepare. I found some instant tea which will do I think. I prepared the hot water for the tea when I heard someone knocked, I rushed towards the door and opened it and to my shock it was a beautiful lady that resembles Zack a bit, Who might be this person ?

I stepped back a bit and greeted her "uhmmm..... Good Afternoon, I'm Lucy, Z-Z-Zack's girl---" Suddenly I heard steps coming towards us.

"Mother !" Zack called out. "E-e-eh !? it's his mother ? but she looks so young."

I accompanied Zack as he continued to go down from the stairs. We directly went to their living room, I brought the tea that I made earlier with some snacks and fruits that our classmates gave to Zack. I served the food on the table and sat beside Zack. "Mom, this is Lucy, my girlfriend" he said proudly.

"Eh ? you're Zack's Girlfriend !? such a cute and beautiful girlfriend you have son." She came to me and hugged me tight and said "She's so cute ! you're Lucy right ? Zack bring her here on Christmas Eve okay ?"

"Mom ! Christmas is still months away ! mou ! stop it already" he shyly said. His face looks better that it was hours ago. I'm glad that he recovered a little, I hope he gets better soon.  I was about to stand up and go home but out of a sudden Zack's mother invited me to dinner " Lucy why don't you take your dinner here ? right Zack ?"

"yeah." He agreed. "well, it's fine with but are you sure madam ?" I said.

"Sure. Sure. But madam ? please just call me tita" **
We finished our dinner but Zack's mother added "Lucy, next time have a sleepover here okay ?" she happily said.

"Sleepover?" Zack and I  blurted out. Zack's mother just nodded with a big smile on her face. I said my goodbyes while Zack insisted to walk me home but I refused, I was worried that he might catch a cold again. I left their house and hurriedly went home.

The next morning.....

"What beautiful scene to start the day" Alice said as we were heading towards Tsukishiro High. I met Alice by the bakeshop buying some bread for her breakfast. "Yeah. Your right Alice the weather is also great today" As soon as we reached our school building we directly headed to our shoe locker but when I opened mine I spotted a letter on top of my indoor shoes. "I wonder who gave me this" I took a look around to see some familiar faces that might placed the letter inside my shoe locker but there was no one familiar around, just then the bell rang and so we dashed to our classroom and sat on our seats.

"Good Morning Lucy ! what's with that letter on your hands ?" Zack curiously asked. "It it a love letter ? perhaps I have a rival !"

"As of now, I really don't know what's inside I haven't read it yet, I this inside my shoe locker just now" I opened and read the contents of the letter.

Lucy,

          Your eyes sparkle like the shimmering sea so deep yet calm. I just want to let you know how much I like you. Every time I see you from afar it seems like my whole world stops and it makes me feel that I'm seeing a beautiful angel. I can't keep my eyes of you. My heart stops beating every time I picture you inside my head. I hope you can be mine but I just recently saw you holding hands with a guy which means you do have a boyfriend but I won't lose to him I won't give up on you Lucy.

"oooh~ Zack has a rival ? you're story really interests me, who might this Admirer be ?" Alice commented.

"Isn't it written there Alice ? it says 'JOSH' I sure that I'm better than him Lucy. I'm sure of it." Zack said. "Lucy ? are you okay ? why aren't you saying anything ?"

"I'm Speechless" Lucy replied.

"Zack, every week I receive letter/s from Josh. What should I do ?"

"You'll do nothing 'coz I'll protect you when that Josh-guy hurts you or bothers you" he confidently said.

"Just don't do harsh acts Zack." I reminded.

The letters continued...... Until it was almost for our school festival, everybody around the campus was busy even Zack and I was busy we didn't even have enough time to bond together but it's gonna be fine. As I was looking around the stalls that the other classes might have while carrying some things for our class cafe, I then again was being clumsy bumped into the guy near the library.

"My, My Are you alright miss ?" the guy said, lending a hand.

I grabbed his hand and stood "Thanks again"

"Again ? Did we already meet ?"

"Ah. Yes. By t-t-the l-l-library" I shyly said.

"Oh. Yes I remember now. What's your name ?" he cheerfully said.

"L-Lucy, are you a senpai ?" I asked.

"Josh from class 2-A I'm not a senpai Lucy. Shall I escort you to your class ?"

Even though I said that it's okay that he won't escort me he grabbed the things I was carrying walked ahead.

He said in excitement  while looking back at me "Lucy! What are you waiting for ? Let's go !"

"Ah ! Hai ! senpai !" I hurriedly ran to him.

" senpai ? didn't I just say I' also a sophomore like you ?" he said while giving me a disappointed but cute face

"gomenasai  Josh" giving him a sincere face, he gave me a very cheerful smile in return. After our long talk on the way we finally reached our destination and he said his goodbye.

"Bye ! Don't wander off again and maybe you'll bump into something again Clumsy !" I entered our classroom and saw Zack waiting for me.
