Oh, I wasn't implying that you where by any means mimicing him, mearly got insperation from him. I do the same thing with much of my work, though not so much from Alex. This is a very nice peice you've done, I hope you do more!

Yes, Alex is fantastic.
I wasn't trying to mimic his work though, this was something I saw in my head. I have been trying to make this image come out more and more realistically.. Theres a piece in my scraps that I did the other day actually which resembles this one.
Ive also been working on a painting, which i started from this drawing for the past 2 years or so, cant seem to finish it.

Btw, I'll be starting our EC soon...been trying to come up with a theme....maybe something like,'nature's reclaimation'...
Also, I was thinking that we try something original like instead of left and right side or top and bottom, how about diagonal? I could start the left lower triangle and you could do the upper right triangle...it would be harder to tell where our sides merged...

I'm thinking something along the lines of nature (plants and stuff) growing out of the decay of human civilization after it's demise. Human kind is on a road to self destruction but no matter how much damage we do to the environment, ultimately over time nature will endure and reclaim it's supremacy. It's endured far worse catastrophies than human infestation...each time it always recovers and only human arrogance leads us to believe that we can utterly destroy it beyond repair...

Just to add to my previous comment...There are many roads and although mankind's present course is self destructive, I believe humanity still has within itself the capacity to turn away from this road. There is always hope as long as we try to make a difference and help others become aware.... Keep up the good fight my friend, we may yet prevail...

I was going to do that originally, but when i started making the horizontal lines, i stoped somewhat short, i think it adds to it. It seems to make sense, until you look at it longer... i like the illusionary effect.

It just comes to me. Im bombarded by images everytime im working on something. Yet sometimes, when I have no new art ( i do 1 at a time..) I'm in a blank zone. It gets frustrating when your pool of ideas is rather shallow. But ideas are always flowing. You just gotta tap the pool, you see? You can meditate on it also. Ive started my first painting, its of this sketch. Im going to take the idea a little further, the DNA strand will consist of 6 twists, each one representing one of the 7 chakras ( the earth in the hand will be the first elemental earth chakra ) The final, crown chakra, will be the eye which is ignited.

i think works involving metaphysics and existential questions like this are often full of intrigue and some of the better sides of humanity.
i really enjoy some of the textures and the abstract feeling the lines wrapping around the fingers envokes.. very sensational... (involving the less overused connotations of the word).
