Looks like the start of an awesome set (01 giving the impression of more mecha). Just one question: are those pipes on its shoulder part of a cannon-type weapon or something?

I had multiple versions of it with interchangeable shoulder weapons giving that whole megazord feel to it. SO that might be what you're seeing. Or the yeah its a cannon.

I realize I wasn't exactly being clear about what I was asking. I was talking about the three pipes above its gun arm. Not sure if that's what you replied on, or if there were mixed signals.
Still looking forward to 02~05 (and 06~whatever number you decide to stop at)!

Interesting... I like the lines, the use of organic and symmetric shapes...
Though the right arm's design is pretty unlike the legs, it fits the overall design of the character in my opinion...

The first thing that came to my mind was "wow, looks like Neon Genesis meets Transformers", which sounds stupid but is really cool as I really liked NGE and the look of the new Transformers.
It really is a blast! I love the rectangular "tank-like" armor plates on the legs in combination with the more round and alien like chest, really really cool

I see you call it megazord unit 1, but i cannot see any similarity with what i know as megazord.

Let me ask you this, does it have to look like mighty morphin power rangers? Does it even have to be called a Megazord. Does it have to be cheesy looking? If you've been following anything I've been doing with my project I've been trying to create a series that doesn't give the negative cheesy connotation that people think of when they hear Power Rangers or even Kamen Rider to that matter. I'm taking concepts from successfully accepted sci-fi examples such as Transformers, Cloverfield, Distric 9 even or Garo.
So no it doesn't look like Zyuranger zord because I'm creating something that is completely different its not sentai or kamen rider. Its a flavor of everything.
But you're response does prove a point that I was afraid of, branding it the Megazord does give it the expectations that this is Power Rangers that I am making and its not. Its people in power suits in a grim dark Watchmen-like story.

I think it is a good thing to try and change peoples perspective about these things, I am also working on that kind of thing.
it is just that the name megazord is strongly synonymous with the original series of power rangers for me. megazord always suggests to me a transforming combination robot.
I can see you have taken some influence of transformers the michael bay movie.. if i'm not mistaken.
I was expecting to see some evidence of separate robots fitting together. so this is the main thing that cnfuses me. but i don't think i meant that it was a bad thing that it didn't look like what i think of as megazord, I was just interested in your references and why you chose it that way.
