Stunning. It's pose is dignified, despite the fact the title implies it's facing it's doom.
The splash of pink was a nice touch. It brought attention to the head, and thus the aforementioned pose (or the claws, but I'm ignoring that!).
Lovely work, overall.
And hope never dies, it just hides for a bit, waiting for you to find it again elsewhere.
