Yeah! Over the trek of like three days I have become a full blown Doc Ock fan ^_^ Yes comic book and Movie wise now.I use to not like his comic persona when I was younger but watching the movie and now reading through the older comics, he is a brilliant character. Of course I hope all you die hard Ock fans forgive me if I choose the movie look over the comic look XD
This pic was done the day after I saw the movie. It was just a joke because I felt Otto needed a big hug. I tried out my water colored pencils again and wish I hadn't. While the colors turned out decent I forgot the risk of using water colors without heavy paper and as you can see in the scan its begining to buckle :sigh:
Anyway, this pic is the beginning of some wacky movie verse fanfic where Furel is a fashion modle, Cherry gets a job at the Daily Bugle, and Doc has to sit around on the couch avoiding Twirp. Lots more random fun later, I hope ^_^

Hey, it's okay. I like movieOck! better than comicOck! They give him a lot more character in the movie. You actually feel so sorry for the guy and what he's going through. While in the comic, it's like, "Why won't you just dead!" By the way, this pict is nicely done. I especially love the tentacles' conversation with each other about what they are supposed to do.

Well, perhaps when I first drew this I would agree with you, but I must politely disagree now. Comic ock is very developed, but yes, his isn't as handsome as Mr. Molina or sympathetic, he's egotistical and a megalomaniac and he is..well...dis-likable because he is a villain. You're not supposed to like what he does other wise you wouldn't root for the hero. I still love movie!ock, but I think I do like comic!Ock more. I love a good villain and he's one of the best.

Well, when you put it that way, it does sound really good. I just don't know much and probably judged comic!Ock more than I should have. The truth is, I haven't really had much exposure to comic!Ock, only a few things here and there, and also opinions on Ramos!Ock. The movie is basically all I know about him. But as for villians, he is one of the best. For me, movie!Ock was a bit of nostalgia for me, and all that I've been exposed to, and I kinda had bad experience with other villains *cough*Eggman*cough* that kinda look like him. So, my apologies for judging where I shouldn't and I respect your opinions and I like that you respect mine. Keep drawing as amazing as you do.

lmao, it's so cute! And yes, I became a 'die hard' Ock fan as you say it, when the animated version of Spiderman came on ABC Family. I never gave the Spider-Man2 previews a second glance, and rolled my eyes, saying, "Yup, knew they were gunna make another one."
After I fell in love with the doctor from the animated version, I kept begging and pleading with my parents to take me to see the second movie. lol
But I dunno which I love more: Ock from the cartoon, or Ock from the movie. @@ Ock from the cartoon has such a cute accent! Makes ya wanna pinch his cheek! lol

Although Otto is an all around cool character (from the comics to the cartoons to the movie), I' ll agree that the trench coat takes the cake over the green and yellow get-up. It's a good thing that he lost the bowl-cut hair style too...

I have that wrinkle problem with almost every painting I do. Did you do this on normal paper? Because you could use heavier watercolors paper, it does wonders. You did a great paint job btw.

Yeah, I made the booboo of using real paper cause watercolor paper is expensive. But normally I use my card stock paper and it does okay. This was just regular white thin paper XP

Just iron it with a regular clothes iron, sadly I found this out in desperation, but don't use the steam.

I love this.. as soon as I read your comment on Ock on ~redelf 's page, I had to come check out your gallery. I used to watch the spider-man cartoon when I was little (not that I can remember much from it..) but I never really read the comics, so I'm pretty much just a fan of Doc Ock in the movie

LOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I do remember the doc ock episode very well from the cartoon. (not because it was my favorite but it was rerunned all the time) but I was never a huge fan of him. Now that I'm older I think i can really appreciate this complex character.
