I really like the way you colour and shade, any tips?

Aw thanks so much! Hmm let me see... okay when shading I usually colour a layer on top in a light purple or blue and put it on multiplier and make it a clipping group. From there I erase where I think the light source would hit the characters. Sometimes I have to switch back and colour in shadows as well but mostly it's erasing.
Then for highlights on another layer I use a soft orange or yellow on overlay and put in some sharper highlights. For example on the body those parts would stick out more so I highlight the middle.
After all that I use the airbrush to add in or erase away some of the softer edges of the shadows and highlights, mostly where there are rounder shapes like the body or ears for example.
I hope that makes sense, I have been wondering if I should make a sort of tutorial step by step thing aha

It does make sense! But what does clipping mean? And do you shade the whole thing then erase?

Ah okay so I'm not sure what program you use but I use SAI and it has this layer option here:
It locks the layer to the one below it so you only draw only where the layer under it is. So that's how I colour the whole thing in with the multiplier and then erase where the light is.
I think programs like photoshop you can use masks? I'm pretty sure there are a lot of tutorials on google on how to use it too.
