I. Am. So. Tired.
I didn't expect my part to fall in the busiest week for assignments I have. But it's fine, my class tomorrow in the afternoon so it's all good that its 3am rip (totally didn't start at 10pm). This drawing took so loooong but like Pish, I have no chill. The writing in comparison took no time at all, despite being over 900 words. I get carried away with everything clearly...
Ignore my complaining I did have heaps of fun, 10/10 would do again. But like, at a decent hour of the day

Title referring to how it's kinda been left to Pish to save the day lmao. But from just the drawing it's well...
Anyways here's the story stuffs!

“Did someone say they need some help? Look no further, for I have come to your aide!”

Pish stepped out of the bushes as if they were misty smoke, arms up as if he expected cheering.

Silence.

“No?” He asked, taking in the group one by one. Looking to the side he muttered to himself, “Tough audience,” before clapping his hands together with a ridiculous grin, “Okay then!”

“Look another one!” Castor pointed at Pish as if he’d found a new species of plant.

“Wouldn’t it be great if we were supposed to be finding other Wyngrew instead of, you know, something common in a forest, like blossoms?” Marceline sighed, too tired at this point to put any effort into the sarcasm.

“Wait,” Nymble cut in, letting go of where he had grasped desperately onto Grog and began pawing towards the newcomer to fall flat on his face and hold onto Pish’s foot with his remaining strength, “You said aide, right?” The question was muffled by the ground but the message got across.

“With the nasty bugs,” Angel clarified from where he sat by Nymble’s side, looking at him with caution and concern.

Artemis nodded, “Grog was just saying we need wat-”

“FIRE!” Pish yelled, the declaration doubtless and unnecessarily dramatic. And without hesitation he thrust his claws forward and set the bush on fire.

“NO!” Came the immediate cry of horror from at least half the group.

Followed by the lagging behind, “Noooooo!” from Slow.

“Oh no,” wailed Firo, cheeks clutched between his paws as he was the first to look at the prone blue form on the ground.

Pish watched the fire burn with a pleased look and his claws on his hips, either oblivious or unaffected by the shock, and anger likely to follow at his actions.

“Why,” was all Nymble managed, face still in the ground. A simple defeated, exhausted word so sucked dry it didn’t even sound like a question.

“Hmm?” Pish turned away from his masterpiece, “Oh! You wanted to get rid of those gnaws right?

“Er, not exac’ly like that,” Grog said, blinking down at the steadily burning bush.

“How are we supposed to get Nymble Blecku Blossoms now?” Firo asked, looking Pish as if he expected him to have a plan here. Everyone else’s stare followed suit, either with curiosity or doubt.

“Right right,” Pish waved off their worry, “I live in the opposite direction you all came from, so I got here earlier. I have them riiiiight here!” Then bending downward into the bush he’d emerged from he pulled out his red bandanna he’d filled with the blossoms he’d picked earlier that night.

Nymble’s head shot up so fast it was as if it had been yanked up by a rope. So desperate was he, he took the words as permission to take the Blecku Blossoms from Pish’s claws.

“They’re real,” he breathed, looking down at the little round beauties in the red cloth.
Someday in the future when everyone looked back on that night, they would swear they saw tears of joy in his eyes.
But right now they were busy relishing their relief.

“Thank goodness, finally!” Marceline threw her head back and stretched her spine, “Can we leave now?”

“What about the bush?” Castor asked, still staring at the flickering flames.

Grog eyed the little fella and thought it best to put a paw in the way so he didn’t try get to close.

“Ah well,” Pish said, holding up a claw before bending down into his seemingly magical bush. “My one friend told me I’m a hazard or something so I should carry water with me. So I stole my other friend’s sandcastle bucket.” He pulled it up from the foliage and low and behold it was filled with water.

Artemis needed no words from there, she sat back to summon the magic needed to move the water from the bucket and douse the flames with a satisfying hissss.

Slow blinked at Pish, “Yooooou’re goooooood aaaaaat thiiiiiis.”

“Why thank you, it’s not because I’ve been following you guys all night waiting for my moment,” he rocked happily on his heels with his arms behind his back.

“I think it’s still dead,” sang Angel while Grog kept Caster from poking at the still smouldering ashes with a stick.

“While not my preferred way of dealin’ with it, plants do grow back better in the nutrients provided by the ashes,” Grog explained, scratching at his beard.

“See it’s fine,” Pish said, his grin never wavering.

“You didn’t know that though did you?” Firo timidly asked, more worried about what could have happened than what did.

It was at this point Nymble stopped stroking the blossoms like they were precious gems and started getting wobbly to his feet.

“I have to get these to Dr. F!” He yelled and started to run. Well sort of, it was more of a sloppy shamble, a good speed only maintained by sheer determination and will.

Without thinking, everyone took off after him. Whether they’d joined in on the strange adventure earlier or just arrived, all were at least somewhat invested in seeing this through to the end. Or they were so tired that the sudden movement triggered the reaction to follow whether they meant to or not. Who knows, they didn’t.

“But do we really have to run?! Marceline yelled, “I’m eggbound for crying out loud.”

“Nymble could always carry you in the bags under his eyes,” Pish offered.

Right on, that was super fun! Hope I didn't butcher anyone's character too much.
And I hope there's just the right amount for Nestly to work with there, good luck. Tell you what, this many Wyngrow is a challenge, phew
