Alma can - and has - tolerated a lot but she has to put her foot down somewhere. And that so happens to be when a fullgrown gro causes another some major injury, whether he deserved it or not. Honestly Tenga respects her firm stance on the subject and so he agrees, he's wanted to leave for quite a while now anyway. Now is a good a time as any.

As he walks away from The Nook he lets go of any grudges he may have held there, like little beasts from a cage. Even the nasty big one he had for that bird bastard. It almost puts a skip in his step but Argo let's out a tired noise and falls asleep on his shoulder so he moves slowly into the dark.
Leaving so early had been his choice, he didn't want to deal with any sappy goodbyes. Or the possible lack thereof. Which would just be awkward, obviously.

Nothing could put a damper on his spirits right now. He's free! But it does quickly occur to him he doesn't know where to go. And while sleeping outside does sound like fun he knows that won't work forever. He heads toward the centre of town.

The first rays of a new day turn the sky a gradient of colours when he notices Wyngrew, alone and some in small groups, approaching a lone figure and then being sent off. Tenga grins, he's got to know what that's about.
It's that town elder who raves about the future but that doesn't seem to be her topic today as she starts explaining some grand quest to him the moment hr approaches. Tenga's only half listening, his eyes already lit up with the very idea. Oh he's in, there's bound to be some sweet rewards for gathering some odd items around town for the old lady. She's the mother of the town's mayor, and he's about to be sold into that Last Notch governing family of quills. Birds, he snorts. No doubt the head is also a bastard, but a rich one at least.

Completing the tasks are easy, he has fun exerting himself more than necessary for the fun of it. But his favourite is the exploration at the lake, diving deep forces him to push his body so much his magic flows forth and he propels himself forward. It's cool and refreshing, he wishes he could live down there.

Oh that's a simple trick, I just lightly overlay a watercolour texture I found. Works with other textures too ;D
