Hey look lineless, I haven't done that in years! It was fun and I should definitely try do more once I get the hang of it.
So this is the first picture I'm going to do to kick off the rest of the plots I have going, of course a few will be the event prompts too but no one said we can't do more for fun.

In response to:

Ignore the fact that Onion is grown now and that it's not raining in my picture shhh.
It's time to get crazy with plots, and that includes me writing for once.

The evening had started off like many other visits had, peaceful and content. And was supposed to end as it always did too, on the couch with Poppy and Onion falling asleep on either side of Branch. Sometimes empty mugs on the table or books in their laps.
Yes the evening should have ended there for a new day to begin tomorrow.
But it didn't.
Ever vigilant even in sleep Branch woke at the distinct sound of tapping on glass. At first he thought it was the heavy rain that had begun to pour. He squints at the glass, but the humidity outside from the downpour has fogged up the are and makes it impossible to see far in the dark.
The tapping persists, and now that he's more awake Branch is almost certain it can't be the rain.
It's too sharp of a noise.
Lightning flashes.
Right outside the window hangs a Yittle, tapping a singular claw methodically against the glass. Smile wide. Eyes aglow.
A scream jams in his throat. But a jolt and sudden frantic breathing is enough to wake up the sleeping Poppy and Onion.
"Branch? What..." Poppy rubs her eyes with a fist, but clear concern shines through.
Onion yawns and then opens his eyes. Suddenly rigid. "Mum..." he draws out, staring at something behind her. Come to think of it Branch is staring behind her too.
A quick look over her shoulder is all she needs, the shape of the Spite is unmistakable with every flash of light.
Poppy might have screamed, but that wasn't important. She knew Branch had an extreme fear for Spites and Onion knew next to nothing about them. As much as she enjoyed taking life by the hand and skipping on her merry way, sometimes she needed to take the lead. She likes to think that it's because of her brighter outlook on life that she can jump into the leadership role a lot easier, which means she can be more helpful.

Poppy grabs Onion's wrist and starts pulling him off Branch and to his feet. That seems to bring him to his senses enough to cooperate.
Branch is still staring at the window, breathing uneven. Panic growing in his eyes steadily.
"Branch," Poppy says so gently that he turns to look at her, "Come on, we're getting out of here." She offers a hand and in somewhat of a daze Branch grabs it and allows Poppy to pull him to his feet as well.
"Onion sweetheart, you're going to open the door and then we're all going to run. Okay?"
Onion swallows and nods, not having enough control of his tongue right now for unnecessary words. Branch doesn't respond, too busy staring out the window as if he can keep the Spites from moving if he glues them in place with his stare. But at least he's not fighting her grip so it will have to do.
They make it to the front entrance and Poppy nods for Onion to open the door.
The moment the cold air hits them Poppy is off, dragging Onion and Branch along with her. Her grip so tight that even when Onion fumbles on his new hooves, it holds and she can help tug him up so they can keep going.

To town.
We have to make it to town.
It's safe in town.
Right?
