Description
Inked this [link] in ball-point pen. It didn't turn out the way I was hoping for and I tried to cover up some stray marks. I'm considering adding some color later on.Update:
Unfortunately, shit hit the fan during an attempt to experiment.
This is as far as I got.

Thank you. The stripes were easily the most time-consuming part of the drawing.

Well, I did take some creative liberty on the design.

So you played this game before? Art direction of the game was fantastic. Plus, I don't often see much anthro in video games these days.
Unfortunately, my ambition didn't quite match the execution at the end. I did some cross-hatching and tried to watercolor. The paper I used was not suitable for the watercolor and warped up the paper. It might have ended up in pieces if I continued.

Sure did, I think everything these days is more about what's real or what could be real.I guess they feel people won't feel like they're filling the shoes of an anthro character like they would a human.
There was once a way you could get the Grand Theft Auto kit, where you can make your own GTA game if you had the technical knowledge. Someone had gotten their hot little hands on it and began doing a Grand Theft Furry version. It didn't get far, I think the creator lost interest. I've seen people make furries out of the characters in the first SIMS game, too. But all that is custom stuff.
In earlier WWE games you could make anthro wrestlers, though.

Thank you and sorry for the late reply. This was a work in progress, but it came to halt due to a bad decision.

Thanks man. I want to add some finishing touches when I find the time. Hopefully it won't wash out the stripes in the process.

Wow, nice detail with the stripes. I do agree with *Mokuu about adding some shading.
Good job

It's still a work in progress and I want to develop this a little further to make the picture pop out more. I initially wanted to render with coloring medium. However, I'll try to combine coloring with hatching see what can happen.

Add some cross hatching or hatching madness to render the volume, overlapping the marks with them MAY be a risk but "No guts, no Glory".
Also the shoulders feel a bit inclined/unbalanced -right one higher than usual-.
Also, thats one PS1 gem, too bad they never made a sequel.

I'll see what I can do with the hatching. It's going to be tough with the stripes in the way, but there isn't an excuse not to try.
I too wished T'ai Fu would make it as a series. Alas, the mass appeal/business side of video games are not always favorable.

Thank you. They may look like tattoos, but they are actually stripes on his fur. I took the liberty of giving it a decorative pattern not found on real tigers.

Yes i realised the tattoos as the stripes after clicking the button "send" That gives the picture a real great touch because you made something special with the natural tiger design
Well i donΒ΄t know how to explain i hope you understand what i mean.

I'd say this is one of your best pieces showing muscles. You didn't overdefine them like you tend to do so, and made them more smooth and natural.

CheshireCat8D In reply to ultrapunk [2009-01-06 09:00:46 +0000 UTC]
In this case, I attempted to use the stripes to bring out the form of the muscles.
However, I think I need to start using more shading rather than lines to for muscles.

Well i think the use of stripes rather than lines is what makes it better. You have to imagine the shape with the curvature of the stripes. Stark lines for something subtle like muscles don't work as well.

That's pretty sick. I wouldn't have used a ballpoint pen though. It'd be well worth the money to get yourself some Faber-Castell pens.
