I decided to pick it up because I love the sound of it. No one really inspired me to do so, it's just the sound of the banjo is wonderful. Playing with other instruments or by itself, it just sounds amazing. Plus, it's not a common instrument that is played and I can't help but to be different. And I heard it's really hard to learn, and I love to be challenged!
Recently I discovered Steve Martin (comedian and actor) plays the banjo. I didn't learn this until a week or so ago, and he's one of my favorite actors!

I don't really play anymore but I used to dabble with the banjo, guitar and mandolin and other random stringed insturments

That's neat, this is the first stringed instrument I've picked up. I dabbled with the keyboard and I had to play the clarinet in band during grade school and middle school.
I googled them just now, and they're from near me so that's kinda exciting! I've heard of them, but have never heard them.

The Avett Brothers are my favorite band.. I prefer there older stuff.. but the new stuff is good too. I have been a fan of them for years.. remember seeing the, play shows with less than 50 people there.. now they play to thousands.. Glad to see they have done well for themselves. Their earlier stuff has more of a blue grass influences.. more banjo! You might like it.

Also, nice boots, need to get myself a pair fine as that. There's a custom leather shop here in Sac that does amazing work on anything.

I got mine at Tractor Supply out in Red Bluff. They have great boots.

What? I may be 24 but I still have little need for a car, except I would use it to do my studies in the Sierra foothills rather than at home. Everything else I can get to by bus, streetcar, or train.
