Description
These are the white cliffs at Rügen , an island in the baltic sea at Germany . It was made at asunny early springday , the trees still were without leafesI made this from 7 different exposures and photomatix . The reflections of the sun by the white color of the cliffs made it nesessary to use more exposures than I usually use

Genau dort habe ich auch einmal gestanden und solch ein Foto gemacht, nur war es zu meiner Anfangszeit mit einer
Spiegelreflex, einer Minolta X100, es war März, kurz nach der Wende, und es lag teilweise noch Schnee.
Dieses Bild ist wunderschön.......

An der Stelle war eine Bank und es waren noch einige mehr mit Kameras dort . Ich glaube mit meiner X700 hätte ich das so nicht hinbekommen

nicht schlecht, - schwieriges thema, diese weissen klippen, - ist schon recht hdr lastig geworden...

Dankeschön Peter . Ja die sind nicht ganz so einfach grad bei gleißendem Sonnenlicht ist es nicht ganz einfach . Naja und es ist auch ein HDR , wobei man natürlich versuchen könnte es ein wenig natürlicher aussehen zu lassen . In diesem Fall hat es mir so aber einfach besser gefallen

The chalk cliffs of Rügen ! That enough would have been sufficient to attract my attention, since they are so much part of the mythology of any self-respecting Caspar David Friedrich enthusiast ( Kreidefelsen auf Rügen). But your picture is a beautiful work of art in itself : the whole mysterious place is bathed in a soft, unearthly light -- so much so that trees and cliffs even seem to be emitting their own radiance -- while the delicate grey-blue tones of the sea are in keeping with the subtle colour palette. An illuminating work, in more senses than one.

Thank you so very much for your kind words . These cliffs are a very special place that´s true and so inspirating . When i took the photos i was a bit disapointet that the trees were still without leafes , I thought green trees would be a fantastic contrast to the white sand of the cliffs , but later at home when i worked with the phots i noticed these lightreflections at the bare branches and i like this very special soft tone I got this way . I´m very happy that you like it too and it is always very nice to get to know how other people see my pictures
