Description
My very first matte painting.My goals were to direct the viewers eye with simple forms through the hole image on an oval path. No area of the image should have have been less interesting then all the other.
Done in Photohop CS3 in 4k width. Hell that was a lot of work!

I love the image as a whole, but the roads do appear to be slightly different in style to the buildings. This isn't a bad thing, but it does draw a little attention to itself when the viewer first looks at the image.
Overall, however, it's wonderful! I really like it!

thx and yeah, you are right. It is intended to have edgy buildings, very simple and a highway which is a curve. I wanted to produce some interest with this fact. I thought the image would be boring without a strong contrast because all the buildings have that equal style.

I think you definitely achieved your goal. I dont look at the sky area as much. Maybe it could have some more contrast with the use of oranges that you used on the roads (maybe clouds?) to achieve that "overall" look you want the viewer to receive. But it's still very nicely done!

thank you , and yeah after some time has been gone i can see now the problems in the image. But after working many hours on it and permanently starring on one image too find problems, it is hard to see whats wrong.

Das sieht echt gut aus. Dachte zu erst - schon wieder ne photographie. Aber is es ja nicht 
Ansonsten was mir echt gut gefΓ€llt ist das du an die "langzeit" beleuchtung gedacht hast und die fenster ein bissi heller gemacht hast.

Matte Painting bedeutet das man mit Hilfe von mattes ein Bild ,unter anderem, zeichnet. Eine "matte" ist eine Art Maske bzw etwas das nur einen Teil des betrachteten Bildes zeigt. Keine Ahnung wieso es nicht Mask Painting heiΓt.
