I've been lurking more and more on dA, and people telling me off for things I never said. If I thought thecomment didn't make sense, I'd pop in and ask. People just assume I was against whatever their views were.Some examples...
On music:
Me: "Classical music is too deep for me, I'm as shallow as a puddle."
Person A: "OMG, you're disrespecting my musicianship!"
On dolling:
Me: "Your argument is flawed."
Person B: "You think dolling isn't art? Doll hater!"
On art-thief:
Me: "Don't call the fans retards, they don't know."
Person C: "Look, it's another art thief lover!"
Seriously... I don't know what to say but... First stamp! Hope you liked it.

~i think it's the "your argument is flawed" part that always gets on my nerves, because people always think that it's a personal attack~
~saying that someone's argument is flawed isn't saying that their opinion is wrong or that they are a complete moron~
~it's just like saying, "okay, sir--there's a serious hole in your logic that you need to fill in before you can affirm that 'because of *A*, then *B*' and filling in that hole will actually strengthen your argument rather than weaken it"~
~in other words, it's actually HELPING the other person~

I am having that right now with a Da acquaintance. It's frustrating, I just want to think differently and be be and he's all like conform to me or else you are a hater.

I know I tried different ways, hoping that if I could state it in a different way then he would at least be open minded to my side(which is let's just think on both sides of the issue) , but he absolutely refuses to so I had to unfortunately give up on him.
he just made me too much and go " " to his arguments because a lot of them didn't make any sense and a lot of the time he totally warped what I said or said I said things that I did not say.
It was totally frustrating.

well it's regarding politics. If you are still interested I can give you a few links and a back story if you like, so you kinda know what's going on.
Despite him frustrating me, I don't hate him or harbor him any ill will, he just frustrates me and makes me want to bang my head against a wall or something.

I will give them to you just don't bother the guy. (I don't want any hassle his way, just others seeing the frustration that I have with em.)
Some are political because he makes em that way.

I tried to make boundaries to where we don't talk about politics, and he breaks them.(I am trying to find ways where we can agree to disagree and talk peaceably, but it's hard at times.)

yes.... people are.... just great sometimes. who was it that said that there unlimited amount of human stupidity or something like that. just when you think they can't get any worse.... they do.
I actually critique art sometimes, because i thought it was awesome, but i find i have a knack for seeing flaws sometimes, and once someone went off on me for it, basically saying that i shouldn't flame the picture (more or less... it was a loooooong comment), but see that is where more logic comes in handy. like they said i don't want to be mean, but -said something bluntly mean- (i forget just what now) so my reply was if u didn't want to say anything mean, you wouldn't have and wouldn't have replied and let the artist stick up for themselves instead of posting a reply to me at all, since I wasn't even talking to you.

It's always easy to find those people, scroll down, and there's a chuck of *Marked as spam* But it's always funny to see the artists cry about how 'unfair' the critiques are.

the artist didn't mind what i had said and let the comments stand.... it was just some random person who likely was just trying to start stuff. I wish i had bookmarked the deviation, because I don't know if I can find it now. I didn't bother going throw random dodo's art/journals to see if they regularly flagged as spam.... wasn't worth the time to me. I mean they said stuff like who ask you to critique...... i was like you expect artist to coming to me to ask for critiques? you know, little non-popular unknown me. not that i'm complaining, being largely ignored is fine for me.
i thought there was one about just when you think you the depths of human stupidity, basically you find someone more stupid. but my memory sucks.

Cause seriously, I may be prancing stupid one, when whenever someone has a different views on said subject (it could either be negative), fans/people instantly lash on them or promote their views must be silence.
And this is why we can't get along with each other, no one respects other's opinions on the same subject.

Indeed. Just like the Cheshire Cat says: we're all mad here. Just some people tend to try to live/adapt with others in a society that doesn't think we are nuts.
Not saying you can hate or like whatever you want. Just do it logically, normal, and respectful. Then people might see you're pretty decent for showing appreciation or hatred to anything.
