For normal Pokemon games, I'd pick Espeon, Jolteon, or Vaporeon, all with the same or similar advantages (high/decent Sp. Att & Speed), and depending what my team needs (do I need a Psychic, Electric, or Water type?).

I chose Espeon in Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. Maybe I shoulda gone with a Vaporeon since there aren't many Water types to get in the game.
