it's finally done!! dunno how many hours i spent on this, sure seems like a lot. siigh, i've been procrastinating so much lately, it's probably the season. all i wanna do is sleep.
oh yes it's completely made with a charcoal stick. all comments/critiques are welcome. please enjoy.. and happy early new year!

This is an amazing work. The understand of the interplay of light to darkness is impressive, especially in some of the finer detail like the shirt on the person doing the holding and on the left eye of the person being held. I really thought it was a photo at first!

It makes me think of a huge secret I told my best friend years and years ago. And then... it felt like the end.

I can appreciate that so much right now cause I just got back from a charcoal class. I get so easily frustrated with it. :/
Honestly, I clicked the link to the original photo and looked away, and when I looked back I was like, "Hey...the link didn't load." I really thought your's was the actual picture. The detail and shading is amazing. The textures are great, the lips actually 'feel' like lips, and the same goes for the skin, eyelid and the rest. Many many kudos to you.
