Yay, I've been productive today! ^.^ This one's so cute, it does need to be colored though, it's kind of hard to figure out without color, I think. It gets confusing what parts are her hair and her arms... Oh well, it's definately on the 'to color' list, so it'll get there.

Paintshop Pro... I've been really happy with it, until recently, when I've just really wanted something more out of it... I tried out Open Canvas and got spoiled by how nice it felt, but there's too many things I don't like about it to use it (it can only undo so many steps, etc.) I'm thinking about trying out Painter, or something... I love my Paintshop, but I just can't shade well in it x__x

awwww =/ if i were familiar with paint shop i might be able to offer you some help. but i use photoshop.
but~ this may still be applicable. if paint shop has anything akin to photoshop's burn and dodge tools (which are basically just shading and highlighting, respectively) then set both of them to 100% power/effect/opacity/whatever and make the brush a small hard round one of a tiny size, about 3 pixels or so, and then make a whoooole lot of lines in the direction the hair flows. XD start with the burn tool, then do the dodge tool. it should look sort of like a spaghetti hair mess when you're done.
