Well, the secret's out. Why am I drawing all of this? Because some of my friends and I are plotting an online fancomic, which will begin its posting bright and early in January! I'll post the site link in my DevJournal as soon as it's ready to be viewed by the public.

But for now, here's a snippet from "The Last Free Man"... a very dramatic chapter of the comic, and one of the most dangerous situations our mouse detective has faced yet...!

"This is it, Basil," Le Feuvre state lowly. "Do you have any last words?"

The great detective stood straighter than he already was, chin lifted as he set his jaw. "As a matter of fact, Inspector, I do. I am innocent of this crime."

The crowd was silent, for the views were mixed. Many believed his words, and they far outnumbered those who did not.

Le Feuvre was not entirely convinced. " Sherringford Basil, you stand convicted of murder and the attempted theft of the crown jewels! All evidence indicates that it was indeed you... you were found in the tower! How can you still claim that, knowing it is false?"

Basil simply closed his eyes, his hands clenching together where they were tied behind his back. "Whatever you may believe, wherever I was and whatever I was seen doing... I was put there, not of my own accord. The true culprits are Chermel Angevine and Blayne Conaghan! If you will release me, I will prove to you my innocence!"

For a moment, the inspector appeared as if he would comply. But then, he shook his head. "I am sorry, Basil... but I cannot accept your 'proof'. Hangman, on my signal!"

And his hand lifted...
