This was supposed to be a practice doodle but i got invested.Took me 2 hours. I've painted it over the original rough sketch and tried to use only one layer

welcome to this year's critique event, so Merry CRITmas to you!
It is an interesting contrasting digital painting you have created. There are prehistoric elements in it as well as highly modern ones. The fighter is equipped with hightech weaponry and amunition, but the landscape around is looking a bit of the time of the dinosaurs, when there was lots of savanna, steppe and mountains. Now the predator bird on the glove of the fighter: It looks like a crossing between an owl and an archeopteryx; especially the wings are similar to that of the early bird. There is something else in the picture I can see: The bird is sitting above, looking forward to fly up towards the sun and light whereas the pistol is directed to the bottom/ground, to the dark. As well an interesting allusion in there.
