Isn't it weird how Remoraid evolves into Octillery?

Remoraid is a pistol, and Octillery is artillery.Β

Anyways, in my and my friend's PMD hack that we're making, this is why Octillery and Remoraid are the police officers, instead of Arcanine and Growlithe, or Magnezone and Magnemite.Β
We're also both insane.Β

Most evolutions aren't physically possible, especially since they somehow already know their new name and have already adapted to a larger size...

As opposed to the common "PokΓ©mon evolves into bigger, adult version" style of evolution, the developers decided to base Remoraid on a gun and Octillery on a cannon. They thought players would understand, but apparently this failed, because to this day there are message board posts asking why the hell a fish turns into an octopus.
β¦The connection becomes clearer when you realize that Remoraid is based on a Archerfish and that both Archerfish and Octopi use Water jets.
β¦Another connection: Both remoras and octopi are aquatic animals with suction pads.

Another odd one is Dratini/Dragonair to Dragonite... it apparently grows seven dress sizes, gets legs and arms, and grows wings. I mean, WTF?

Apparently the evolution is to do with them both having suckers. Remoraid's based off the remora fish (they attach themselves onto other animals for scrap food) and Octillary obviously from octopi (with the suckers on their tentacles). Both also have some relation to guns/weaponry; Remoraid is like a gun, Octillery is like a cannon/tank (it can learn projectile attacks - eg. Octazooka, Flash Cannon, Ice Beam).
but yea.. other than that, for a fish to change colour and grow legs and become a mollusc is just ridiculous! XD

I've always personally believed that they burnt there bridges for a cool octopus line... I mean tentacruel is a jelly fish... But it almost makes a better octopus than octillery.. ToT
O well I still think that a awesome octopus line is neede.. Cause this guy was a fail.. Lolz
