I drew this for the Illustration Friday topic, subterranean.

The second I saw the word subterranean I thought of the song "Subterranean Hell", composed by Michiru Yamane, for the video game Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow on the DS. Subterranean Hell is also an area in the game underneath the castle. One of the enemies in this area is a Frozen Shade, which I have illustrated this week. The Frozen Shade is a blue, floating, naked woman with ice abilities such as launching giant icicles and freezing mist in the air.

Ice shades and fire shades-always thought these
girls had a tragic fate in Castlevania games...
They just wanted to embrace the hero,
but were too cold or too fiery to feel a touch...

It's nice, but I noticed a few flaws:

- The shoulders are too narrow, which makes her torso look too tall and her hips too wide. She could also use a (longer) neck. Finally, her right leg looks like it's been chopped off, because it doesn't continue behind the left one. It's a bit hard to explain (with English not being my native language), but I hope you get it.

Your English is fine, she's supposed to be hunched over, that's why the neck and shoulders are close.

She is super badass... Definitely comic book worthy, even as she is now, and I totally think you should make a comic outta her

Nicely drawn. I've never played any of the Castlevania games, so I'm not familiar with this character, but you did a great rendering of this character. How long did this take to draw and color?

Well this character isn't particularly prominent, just an enemy in some of the areas.
I'd say this drawing took around 9 or 10 hours to complete.. Definitely at least 5 hours for the colouring..
