You D&D nerds out there (like me) who are no strangers to the PHB might recognize these guys. They're some of the iconic characters from the PHB. I thought the guys in the book looked like crap because of all the junk strapped to them. Those guys had so many buckles and pouches and garbage, its a wonder those guys could even move, let alone adventure, so I took a swing at scribbling the characters out in a little sleeker style (I'm an animator, I hate cluttered characters.)I think I'll re-visit these guys in a while, but I'm just tossing them up here for now.
Left to right: Ember the monk, Soveless the Ranger (my drawing looks crappier than the one in the PHB) Lidda the rogue (I kinda like this one) and Vadania, I think thats her name, the druid.
Bask in my pitiful attempt to interpret the work of professional fantasy illustrators.

Awesome! I like the edgier look you gave Vadania. She should be hanging with her wolf, though. Plan to do the rest of them? I really like Krusk and Gimble.

Thanks! Maybe I'll pop vadania'a wolf in there with her sometime. (I don't like her illustration int the book because her hair forms a confusing tangent with the wolf, looks sloppy)
I would like to draw the rest of them sometime, especially krusk, being he's a half orc and all. Don't know if I'll draw Gimble, because I hate gnomes, but not as much as I hate drow, stupid overated creepy elves.

lol drow are great if you treat them like the evil, life-hating, sociopathic bastards that they are, rather than the overdone renounced evil Drizzt clones that seem to be everywhere. And I hate halflings more than I hate gnomes. At least gnomes have personality. Halflings are just short.

Oh no way! Halflings rule! They're a bunch of klepto wanderers, and you can fit them in anywhere. Gnomes are one short race to many, its like WotC wasn't sure what archetype to give them, so they put them somewhere between halflings and dwarves, and them made them useless. In 3.0, their favorite class was illusionist, which usually equals monster bait, now in 3.5 thier favorite class is bard, the most useless, boring class ever to play.
I like drow as NPCs, but they shouldn't be PCs. Their way of thought is too alien to comprehend, I mean, they've already killed and eaten their twin before they're born.
Sorry about the venting, its just gnomes, drow and bards drive me nuts. personal opinions, woooo

lol I once made a poll between my friends as to the most useless race and the most useless class. The results were Half-Elf and Bard. With that +2 Diplomacy and Gather Information bonus the half-elves get, that character was surprisingly good. You have to be a devious kind of player to effectively play a bard, often calling in debts that may or may not exist. DMs hate my bards.

nice, yeah, I forgot about the sheer uselessness of half-elves. They just don't get much use in the games i'm in, so I often forget about them.

Yeah, the new system will automatically size things down if you don't set it to show at its original size. That might've been what happened.
