1.) What size do you use for your pixel art?- I use a canvas of about 250x400 -w/h- (for the most part)
2.) What program do you use?- Paint tool sai, more specifically the Binary pen.
3.) Do you use a tablet?- Yes, I do. I have Wacom: Bamboo Fun Small.
4.) How long does your pixel art take?- Anywhere from 3-5 hours. It can be longer but it depends on the detail that needs to be added.
5.) How do you make your backgrounds transparent?- GIMP. It's a free program so google it. When I use GIMP I open up the file and select the white background that I don't want with the magic wand tool (with pixel art I can use a threshold of about 15% but for traditional anywhere between 35-70% will be enough to clear the white as long as your lines don't have gaps in them) - Afterwards go to the layer option and - add alpha channel. Then simply press delete (making sure your white background is still highlighted with the magic wand tool.) and Presto! You have a transparent background. Then make sure you save with an extension file of .PNG.
6.) How long did it take you to learn?- I started doing Pixel art when I was about 12, by making and editing sprites on MS Paint where I got a grasp of how to do pixel art, I then mostly did icons until I started experimenting with bigger sized canvases a few months ago.

the binary pen, or you could us ms paint. but the binary pen on sai or other programs is what i and other people usually use.

XD i knew about the binary pen tool but i never thought that you could use it to make pixel characters im so used to reading up how most people use photoshop i just assume that was the only way of doing it XDD

how do you draw the body without making it look out of proportion??

For my chibis I tend to do a biggish circle for the head, two smaller circles for the body, the arms length to about the top of the theigh and usually the legs are a bit longer than the body. I do a lot of circles and lines @__@

Do you draw the lineart on a sheet of paper first and then do it for pixel or do you automatically start with pixel?

Yes, I do start with a sketch, it's a lot easier and requires less editing in the later stage as well because i'm really messy XD

Around 3-4 hours. It mostly depends on how much editing needs to be done at the end. (Like removing pixels that look out of place or redrawing something that looks awkward D: )

It's not particularly a great example of my WIPs because most of it was pretty perfect as I was going through /shot/ and it's mostly black but there are others that take hours to edit out double pixels or pixels that look out of place

Well I'd love to see a more complex pixel. This alone is above my skill lever and I'm sure you'd blow my mind with one of your more colourful ones!

Iunno, it's just evident since there are no actual pixels XD so it's more like outlined with a pixel brush and then the inside is just coloured with airbrush

well that's a little pointless, isn't really pixel art then is it? Your is, it's all done with pixels and is beautiful!
